Wire the usb plug directly to the battery or another always hot wire. The dash cam would think it's always on at that point. I'd be scared to leave it that way all the time but add a switch so at home you could turn it off

After looking at just about all of them I just bought the Mobius I think it is a wise choice.

Where are you guys getting power for your dash cams? Cig lighter or hardwired somewhere?

Wife is complaining too many mods

Yea the dashcam I have described above.

I set mine to record for 12 hours after the car has been shut off. extra battery accessory will shut off the camera if the sensor catches the battery drop below 11.8V to prevent drainage.

Been using cell phone with app to record all the time. Currently running an old Galaxy S4 with an app call AutoBoy BlackBox (Its an real recording app lol)

Auto start after 5 second when it gets power. Like plugged it in. Turn off after 30 second when pulled the wire/charger. Combine that with an montar car mount. Its solid. I am used to mounting the phone to the car mount when enter the truck. Its like second nature lol. Just plug and play when its set up correctly with an app.

The damn car mount is very stable. No shaky video and such. I used it for offroading videos and it came out nice. Had mine for about 3 years now. Still hug the phone like its brand new. Suction part is washable so you can run it through water and reattached. Have not reseat it for about a year now. Attached an link for those who are interested.

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BZWW3ES/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Recently an family member of mine rear ended someone who hit the brake on an green light. She does not have an dash cam so guess who fault was it? Been reading review and watching youtube video of the Mobius. Look really nice. Velcro mount sound good for an quick put on or put away.

Anyone have it and have any review?

I hardwired it utilizing the plug for the optional auto-dimming mirror. Not sure what model years have that as an option.

Just bought a Mini 0803 dashcam with a hardwire kit for 89.99 on ebay. Check out this guy named Techmoan
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LWOq62cY6U

he reviews all sorts of dashcams. The 0803 was the best option for me as its an upgrade to the 0801 with a new Ambarella chip for better fps and night time vids. Cant get any better that that, also has a GPS mount that tracks your location and speed. (yes that option is switchable).

You can get this without GPS for about 10 bucks less. Great deal.

I wanted to get a blackvue, but they are just too expensive.

Nope, no need to have the second camera plugged in. works as a normal dash cam without it, and when you do plug it in, you just get double the video files since it records each camera separately to the micro sd card.

OK cool thanks. I noticed the MIC button. Will that turn the MIC off so that it doesn't record audio?

I would assume so, but I haven't really played with the features much. other than cracking open the charger and soldering on some leads to hard wire it to the truck, it came set up exactly the way I wanted.

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
Leaning towards the G1W-C anyone have first hand experience with this dash cam. Before you ask it's the cost point and basic features making me gravitate to that on device.

I've been using the Transcend Drive Pro 200 up front with very good results. For the rear I just installed an Innovv C3. So far so good. I hear very good things about the Mobius though. I'm looking some ideas for hardwiring them. Maybe some type of battery for the glovebox with dual usb ports that I can charge via the cig outlet. Just need a couple of hours out of it when my truck is off.

I have it. It works just fine. Easy to setup. The mount leaves a bit to be desired but for the price point it works just fine
