Does this unit have a "save" button? To save the clip from being recorded over? One of the reviews said it didn't..

How did you run the cable? I'm going to have to rewire my cig lighter as I'm using it for something else I believe. CD has USB but the dash cam isn't using it for power except to upload like when you plug in to a pc.

Nothing special, I have the dashcam just below the rearview mirror, I looped the cord over the mirror and down to the cig lighter. I might do the hardwire, but not sure yet.

I'm running off the cig lighter right now also. Going to hard wire this afternoon. It will be cool to have the cams going when the truck is parked. I like the idea of having surveillance when I'm not around

Only having one issue with the setup so far. The cams are cloud capable so you can view in real time what's going on regardless of where you are in the world as long as: A) Your dash cam system has an internet connection and B) you have an internet connection on the mobile device you are using to view. Well, the camera system links up to my home wifi without issue, as long as I'm parked close to the house, but my plan was to leave my work phone (Blackberry z30) in the truck at all times and activate it's mobile hotspot feature. Problem is, my dash cam will not link to the Blackberry's mobile hotspot though it has no problems connecting to home wifi. I also have no issues connecting my iphone, ipad, or Dell Laptop to the Blackberry's hotspot. The dash cam company is being helpful in troubleshooting but since they are over seas its all going through email and they take a couple days to respond after each step. I love the setup regardless, but having that cloud access to the live and recorded videos at all times no matter where I am would be the icing on the cake.

Ahh man that's a pretty slick feature, are you able to do a manual wifi setup on the dash cam by Manually inputing the hotspot's SSID, Security types, Encryption etc?

I believe the answer is yes, but I'll need to play with it more this afternoon. So far, I can tell you that you can choose from a list of available wifi networks in the area and of course you can enter a PW for the one you're trying to connect to but as far as encryption types etc. I'm not sure

I'm looking at the specs and it looks like the dash cam uses WiFi for communicating with the smartphone app or Windows/Mac kinda like WiFi Direct.
I don't think it can connect to the internet, that might be why its failing to connect to your Hotspot.

Actually, you're correct in that it communicates with my phone via wifi but it also has the ability to jump on other wireless networks so it can get on the cloud. I am able to do this when I park in my driveway. I can link the dash cam to my home wifi and I can view a live feed from the office on my phone, assuming I drive my wife's car to work. That's what I find so odd. The fact that the camera links to the home wifi but not the blackberry's hotspot

Ahh Ok, that is strange, i'm curious to see what resolution the tech support has.

Me too. I'm just hoping they don't point the finger at Blackberry and say it's their problem. I just found a dash cam forum and they have a whole section devoted to Blackvue cams so I posted there. Doesn't look to be very active though, but then again, no forum seems active after using TW

I ran my cable along the edge of the headliner and down the a pillar to the fuse box where I took apart the 12v plug, unsoldered the pos and neg connections from the board and soldered in wire on the board, ran the wires out of the reassembled connector and grounded the neg and used an add-a circuit to a ing switched fuze slot, easy and free!

DONE! All hardwired using two add-a-circuits. Looks damn clean. It was a pain in the ass to find the add circuits for the low profile type fuses. Let me guess, first gens don't have that problem lol
