    Hey all,
Quick question, anyone know when they introduced the dash clock in the Tacoma's (or even the 4Runners, I know they are the same)?
I had to replace my starter cylinder when I bought my truck and notice that it is wired for the clock, even though the panel is plastic. The wiring for the clock is connected to the back of the plastic. :D
Thanks in advance. I'm heading to a salvage yard tmrw to see if the toyota "truck" they have has it or not.

Mine works half of the time. Sometimes it’s bright and then other times it’s super dim or displays nothing at all.

Here’s the one I found. Mine has the white clip in the back. I’ll know by tonight if I can make it work or not.

I'd poke around behind there some more and see if there is another plug. I'm thinking I grabbed the wrong plug on mine at first.

I don't think they changed at all - my truck is a 96 and my clock is from a 2002.

It came out of a 4Runner. The connector on the back is the same, but my dad is pretty sure we can wire it to work in the Tacoma. Anyone have any history with that?

Yeah this is the one that would work with my truck. The connector is the same. Just currently don’t have money to buy it haha

Im going to guess that there is two separate connections for the clock, one constant 12v circuit, and one for the illumination, wired to the accessory position of the ignition. Should be pretty easy to determine which is which, the grounds should be the same color wire. Just test it with a 12v battery or power supply first.

That’s a good point testing with the battery. Any idea which might be power from the wired I already have?

Thanks. I would’ve loved to buy it, but we found out the one I bought at the pick n pull place was bad. After that I found out my dad’s work makes round dial clocks and it will fit perfectly in my truck, so I think I’m gonna go that route. Thank you tho! Maybe @1997tacomav6 will still want it??
