Dash fuel warning inaccurate?

Kinda of a mean thread here .

 

I deserve it. Just don't ask what my phone's battery level is at right now.

 

I think manufacturers should advertise a "Usable without burning up your pump" volume.

 

For at least 3 years on multiple threads ....

It’s by design. Tundra with the big tank has 8 gallons left when the light is on

Minimizes people running out of gas and getting stranded.

 

Because the average driver is undereducated and can’t understand the meaning of “empty”? Perhaps the automotive industry should adopt an aviation term and display “useable fuel” remaining and really confuse those drivers...
