With my 2020 sport I often need to run with full headlights in fog or dim daylight.

Problem is that when I do it the dash and control lights dim out until it is truly dark out which leads me to think that there is a photocell some where in the circuit that controls when the dash lights come on. It occurs that if I could find the cell it would be easy to tape it to fool the circuit into thinking that if the full heads are on its night and all the dash and control lights come on.

    Or is there another way?

    Twist your odometer reset stalk.

Hassle with the odometer stalk is that I turn the lights down or at least to medium for night driving to help night vision. If I use it for daytime dash lights then I have to turn it up, turn it down. I just want to link the dash lights direct to the headlights, loose the light sensor that I think it has.

I don't think the dash is tied to the photo cell, but could be wrong. If equipped, the cell is just forward of the passenger tweeter. Cover it with electrical tape, see what happens.

Didn't make any difference. I wonder how Tacoma figures out how dark it is outsides to turn the dash lights bright. Another cell somewhere?
