I don't think the needles are blue. It is the LEDs that get changed out that turn the needles blue. Perhaps I am mistaken, but I have never actually seen the needles in a different color unless someone repainted them.

Here's an example of a purple needle since I haven't seen any pics of one. I did this as a test using a white, blue, and red led, but ended up using only white and blue. The needle is painted white too.

needles are clear with an orange film on the back of them. to get clear needles, scrap the film off (either by hobby knife (what i always do), chemical (acetone or nail polish remover im told) or sandpaper). to change the color, replace the LEDs that light up the needle. i highly suggest you also paint the back of the needle as well so that light shows up. i personally always suggest white, as this will have whatever color you change the LEDs for the needle to show up well at night.

to my knowledge, there is not a company that sells just the needles. have to get a spare cluster to get them...which i would imagine would be costly.

yep. the white basically gives something for the light to reflect off of, so it shows the LED color.
they will be a nice blue, just like the LEDs original color. if you paint the needles blue, they will not be as bright at night and the needles could possibly be harder to see during the daytime. this is why i always suggest to anyone that i do the cluster for that they keep the OEM needles or go white on the background. it does not change the LED color at all and is still easily readable during the daytime light.

Front bilstein 5100 with OME 884 w/trim pack, 17" fuel trophy wheels wrapped with 32" toyot open country m/t, bakflip fibermax tonneau cover, Avec 30" led light bar behind lower grille, marathon seat covers in max 5 camo pattern, trimmed front and rear mud flaps, more to come.
Damn, wish I had the skills of soldering! Wish they were like other bulbs, just plug and play. I would be doing this in a heartbeat!

It's not that hard, YouTube has a wealth of videos. It's pretty cheap to get started too. Radio shack has these little kits they sell usually on clearance forlike $5 and has LEDs and resistors usually a Christmas tree or heart or light changing circle..I would buy the solder there since they have electrical solder, but the solder gun i would get somewhere else like harbor freight or even AutoZone.

Hi there, I am new to this forum. I am looking to do the dash board lights as my first Mod on my 2015. However I prefer the look of the older dash templates (not sure what its called) where its predominantly backed out and the numbers glow. As opposed to the 2015 dash template where the outer half is lite up and the numbers are black. Does anyone know if you can order different templates? and if so where?
