Anyone know of an aftermarket switch that closely resembles the stock switches on the dash (like the fog light switch) and is not extremely expensive? I have an Pioneer Avic D-3 and I like to run with my headlights on during the day. The Avic automatically dims the backlight when the headlights are on so that it's not blaringly bright at night. Problem is, during the day, with the headlights on, I can' see it. I'd like to put a switch in the wire to the headlights so that I can override it if I want to. I checked on an OEM switch and they are like 40 something bucks. To quote Marshal Lucky from the movie Used Cars, "That's too f**king high". I thought I saw a post a while back where someone had found a similar switch at a local chain auto parts store, but I've searched with every term I can think of and can't find it.

    Thanks

I dont remember where but I have seen some. They look exactly like our but you can get them custom with whatever you want on them like fog lights, backup lights, aux, etc. They looked awsome but I havent seen them around in a while. Hopefully someone knows where they are. I'm intrested in getting some myself...:)

I ordered mine from here. The website shows a Scion one but I received the OEM switch for a 1st Gen. truck, maybe because I ordered amber. You need to trim the hole in the dash a tiny bit but it looks and works fine.

and OEM is like $38 each!

daystar are like the ARB ones. it's ok if you change all your switches so they are the same

they are all still very different than the OEM ones

I used these. They look nice after some minor trimming they fit into the holes perfectly.

4x4mods.com woulda been my first choice, but they 'no longer accept money' at checkout. IE paypal cut 'em off - likely poor customer relations.

BRINGING THIS THREAD BACK TO LIFE!

I bought the daystar rocker switch. The look and feel of the switch itself is great, but it is a little wide for our stock switch hole.

Has anyone done trimming to get this one in the slot?
How much needs to be trimmed?

    Cheers

Where did you get those switches from? And how much did you have to modify the switches?
