    Hi,

I have a 2018 Tacoma TRD Off-Road with 300 miles on it. After owning the truck for two weeks a random rattle/vibration started coming from the center of the dash. I have not pin pointed it yet. It could be from the vents/AC. Anyone else having this issue?

Any suggestions on where to start problem solving would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Scott

Sure its the center? The cover over the tweeter over by the A-pillars is usually the culprit and can be resolved with a little bit of rubber between the panel and pillar. 300 miles though, and looks as if this isn't your only problem, I would just take it in.

Mine was in the driver kick panel area. Plastic air vent over metal tube.

Thanks for the ideas on where to look.

I have taken it in. They couldn't re-create the problem. It is variable.

I'm "300 miles in...Pissed" because I had occasional dash vibration noise on my 2003 Tacoma, and I remember reading posts about how difficult if not impossible it was to address it. Did not anticipate similar issues two weeks into my brand new one.

Temp is probably the variable, at least in my case it was. When the vehicle is cold, take a passenger along and when you hear the rattle, have them push down on the speaker grille that butts up against the a pillar.

His keyboard certainly would not be able to withstand such the forces required

Dear journal, today I lost it. My brand new truck is driving me to tears. I don’t understand why when I pay MY money, not everything is perfect. I was taught at a young age that I deserve the best, and if I’m not satisfied, complain until I am. I DO deserve the best. Yet I am plagued with clicks and rattles that have tested my emotions to the fullest. I am lost.

Take it to the dealership, there may just be a wire bouncing around. They will put felt in there to dampen it or secure the wire.

It’s not felt. First, you are welcomed with hugs, placed into a private waiting room with Oprah on the television and warmed with a nice herbal tea. Then the “click and rattle” artists silently go to work wrapping the velvet around wires

Your dealership sounds way cooler than mine.
