So, I am fed up with when it's a bit dark outside but not dark enough to use headlights having to turn on the parking lights so I can see my damn dash in the dark. I realize they probably did that so people don't drive around in the dark with the headlights off because they THINK they're on. Is there a mod to have the lights on when the truck is running?

    Thanx

LOL! That's what the DRL lights on is for.

DRL does NOT turn on the dash backlights. Yes, I have the parking light option on the stem, just hate turning it on because then all the other stuff goes to night time lighting levels (Entune i.e.) -

You can go into your head unit to display setting and click daytime mode. The Entune display will be at the same brightness as when the headlights are off.

If Toyota did it right, there would have been a physical dimmer wheel or button in the Entune surround. For all their safety lockouts, why have to drill down a couple of screens to get to the dimmer and daylight controls.

My 3nd gen had the dash lights come on as soon as I started the engine.
