    BUILT, not bought...
I've heard of some guys using expansion foam in some places to silence the rattling.

Luckily, my dash does not make a sound.

I had that crappy dash rattle, drove me up the wall. Mine was coming from the driver side, but this could your problem too. What I found out was that a screw which holds the dash in place was coming loose from the reinforcement bar inside the dash. There are two screws holding the dash on the metal bar (keep in mind driver side) right behind the instrument cluster. So the only way to get to those is take the cluster out, it's not that bad to get out but I have done it a couple of times, the hardest part is getting the speedometer cable back in the cluster, very little room but I figured it out. Once I tightened that one screw thats been rattling and driving me nuts for years is now gone, nice and quite now. There could be a couple of more screws in the center of the dash bolted to the bar with the same issue as on my driver side. The center of the dash is pretty much hidden with the air vents A/C contols and radio so I couldn't see behind there and I've never had to take any of that out. So good luck and check it out, hopefully you will find something like I did.

I'm having this same rattle on my 95. Just started this morning, which happened to be very cold out at 6am here in PA. First hunch, was that is was the weather. But after the truck warmed up it didn't go away. .

My rattle is on the far left of the instrument panel and I have another symptom tied to it ... the speedometer shakes like crazy while the rattle is going. All other dials are ok but the speedo vibrates between 5mph below and 5mph above my actual speed. When stopped on going slow ... nothing. When in 3rd through 5th gears and my speed is picking up, it gets worse.

    Any ideas?

Im having the exact same issue with mine. Right above the center vents. It does go away though after a few minutes of driving.

So none of this would be covered under a recall? How much would the dealer charge for the fixes called for in the TSB?
