I'm not aware of them getting banned but that would explain why they aren't on Amazon. A lot of companies were doing that actually. Mine has been installed in a vehicle since December 2018 and it's still working. The only thing I had issues with was the power cord that connects to the diagnostic port. Actually That was probably the Jeeps fault because it always kicked off the dohicky from Progressive insurance I tried on the Jeep.
It's simple and I have it recording on a Samsung 128gb endurance SD card. That's another thing. Many of the cameras are picky about the SD. You need one that can be used for dash and security cameras. I tried a standard SanDisk SD card and it wrecked the card in a week or so.

Lots of products are like that on Amazon, even well known brands like Anker were like that when they first started. Difference being that companies like Anker mostly grew out of that phase.

For SD cards, there is a minimum write speed that is required to at least be used. An SD card that has a U3 mark is a good base to start from.

As for longevity, endurance cards are the best recommendation, especially Sandisk's new Max Endurance cards. If you want to use regular cards, another option is to choose one with huge capacity. A 512gb card would have similar life expectancy to a 128gb endurance card. I run a 512gb in my Blackvue 2CH set at 1080 60fps with 24/7 timelapse parking recording, been going strong for 2.5 years now.

I think you are correct IIRC. That aside, I have two of them and they work reliably for me, YMMV.

What crazy part of earth do you live on?

I've run dash cams for about 15 years. they have become pretty good. I put one of these in my truck 1.6 years ago. It's been good, and can handle 105* days without issue.

Using huge capacity cards isn't always an option though. I think the dr02 only supports 128 or 256gb. You have to check the camera specs to be sure it will work since some won't like a 512.

Oh yeah, i forgot about size limits on dashcams. But I always wondered about that, since Blackvue's max is 256gb according to every official source, however had no issue taking my 512gb. Even my old Rexing was only up to 128gb, but I had a 256gb in it back then. I think Rexing now go up to 256gb officially.

I have been using a DDPAI Mini 3 for 2 years without issue. It comes with 32gb internal storage and also uses capacitors rather than a battery. Picture quality is top notch and it is very discrete. Has WiFi and connects directly to your phone through DDPAI app for view positioning and file transfers, or you can use a USB micro to pc. Great price on the Mini 3 as the Mini 5 is now out.

People are fools, I saw someone leaving a gas pump put it in reverse and punch it..backed right into a new Mercedes in front of me. Since the Mercedes guy cut me off with no signal I found it funny..

Yeah, if I was your wife I would have said not a word to that person. Let them get in court and perjure themselves before revealing the footage.

Unfortunately, I now people who have spent decades in jail for scammers or similar people. The worst case was a young man, 18-20 years old. He had a few beers and then some woman committed suicide by jumping infront of his car. Everyone in the town new she was crazy (like actually had something wrong with her head) and everyone knew she jumped on purpose, but cops being cops, would rather throw a "dangerous criminal" in jail and get praised for it instead of actually doing work and listening to all of the anecdotal evidence. Anyhow, the kid came out of jail at about 40-45 years old. Im not gonna say drinking and driving is ok, but he shouldn't have spent any time in besides the night in the "drunk tank."

I was just involved in a hit a run 2 weeks ago where a driver rear-ended me pushing me off the highway causing me to roll ending upside down. Thanfully I was ok but what infuriates me is the other driver took off leaving me n my car on the roof.

This is my the 3rd time just this year I been rear-ended. Other 2 times I been in my Titan so damage was minor. The 3rd time was in a VW GTI so needless to say the little car didn't have much of a chance. Now I am paranoid that this could happen again or to my wife.

A guy I work with told me to check our Black Vue. They have front and rear cameras with WI-FI, cloud, parking camera with 4k resolution and are small, 140° angle camera view. I will be getting 1 soon. I figured the front and rear cam is good incase an accident and for trails and offroading.

Has anyone else checked the black vue out.
