I agree 100%. I researched cards and Transcend High Endurance was #1 and Lexar 633x was #2. They both use MLC instead of NAND. MLC is supposedly much better. There was something else that made them better but i forget.

What he said. It's my money. I'll spend it how I want. I come here to get peoples experience with products, not to get berated because I want to spend my money the way I want to. I bet some of the people giving us a hard time for getting an expensive dashcam spend their money on lift kits, etc which I have no interest in. So there's that.

I have a DR750S-2CH with a B-124. I did research on Thinkware and Blackvue offerings for a while before settling on the 750S. It's a clean design and setup was simple. It may not be 4k but the video is pretty good. I haven't had to use it as a result of an accident yet. I don't know how Thinkware does recordings, but Blackvue records in 1 minute segments, with options to change it up to 3 minutes. This could be standard across dashcams as a means of ensuring a video file gets reliably written to the card in the event the dashcam is destroyed in an impact. Or I could be totally incorrect and this short video segmenting could be a Blackvue thing. It's annoying if you want to go back and look at footage via the WiFi connection. There's a desktop app which might automatically stitch consecutive videos together during playback.

sorry - took your post a bit differently.

i use the blueskysea b1w in the tacoma. works well and with their mobile app, i can pull videos directly off of it. it's small and fit perfect behind the rear view camera. if you connect it to an always on power source off the fuse panel it will also monitor motion and g-shock while parked (battery drain is possible with any dashcam that does this).

i need a dash cam to do only a few things:

    - record at 1080p minimum
    - decent night recording
    - not be picky about memory cards
    - and be accessible to pull a video off easily

Thank you for the info. Yes, it is difficult to determine ones attitude on a forum, text, etc. I tend to research the crap out of the things that I buy. That probably costs a bit more because I end up wanting more and more features. And having to pay a bigger price for them.
