I didn’t need more than one mounting option so I opted for the single mount.
I was surprised at how easy this was to install, 10 minutes. Everything fit extremely well. I was a bit skeptical about how much I would like it, worried it would stick up too far but even when it’s vertical it doesn’t sit any higher than the hood so I’m not loosing any view. I was also not sure about the prong type of mount but it’s easy to get used to and with some of the bumpy roads around me I’m just not convinced a magnetic mount would stay put. The mount has been rock solid and because it’s so adjustable my phone will still unlock using facial recognition while mounted so it’s really easy to access when driving....a bit to easy to access as I find myself using the phone more often than I should.

    Overall I’m extremely happy with this mod.16058295-903C-477F-AF59-48B0CB6A83FC.jpg 72D18E6D-6B0D-4851-A0C8-5C0745DD8513.jpg 82EC08DC-3A01-47D3-9B17-CE7C88BA8483.jpg 37E6A6BC-3C6B-4136-B630-0F3053AFBF76.jpg E325A1E8-00D0-4290-BF81-54B012D7C580.jpg 333D92CF-9683-4ECB-9D86-B08AD047E71F.jpg

Yeah. Access is a bit too easy. You will train yourself to ignore it. Considering the frustration free navi, well . . .

For training, I had a BT headset in my m/c helmet for 12yrs now. The learning was quick and easy since all of the folks who called knew that a conversation while moving was very secondary. That translates well to an in-car phone mount.

I agree that internally wired would be much better looking but I don't want to alienate non-electrical savvy taco owners, but then I though if you're brave enough to install the DMM then you should be OK with some simple wiring, so internal it is, at least for now...
I am going to make it so that it bolts into one of the DMM holes and uses one of the other holes to run the wires, I'm trying to keep it as small as possible but most of the USB ports I have found are larger than what I would like

Is there any word how long the sale is going to last? I am pretty close to pulling the trigger, I can't stand that my current set up keeps falling off my dash in off roading situations, but I am also kind of bummed I can't find a ram ball mount with wireless charging for the day-to-day situations. Have people had any luck passing USB-C cords through the DMM holes?

The DMM is now $50 permanently. I was able to cut down on some costs as I increased production. I’m passing some of the savings to you guys.
The holes on the DMM are not large enough to push a connector through. The wire would go through just fine bust not the connector.
I’m working on getting some kind of USB port add-on to power devices.
There’s also a few options out there for wireless chargers that will work with the ball mounts. Have you seen those?

yeah, the one I have has a ball like that but I didn't think it looked like the right size. Maybe I'll try it.

Will your USB solution be backwards compatible do you think? As in I could buy now and buy the USB later?

Power source is in the works. I’m probably going to have the converter inside the dash with just a plug outside bolted to the DMM... not so easy to figure out though

Just ordered the DMM with two mounts. Can’t wait to test it out in Death Valley in a few weeks!

Does anyone know is there is a mount that will fix a SiriusXM onyx mount? It has a really small ball.

My phone and GoPro both use USB-C now. I'm kind of curious how you're planning on adding the power cord though because both cords still use the regular full-size USB on the "getting power" end. Also, there are still idiots (I kid, I kid, mostly) buying iphones and their dumbass (haha still just kidding, not really) cords don't work with anything. So are you planning on having something other than full size female usb plug?

That is kind of the crux of the poll added to the OP. USB-A is the full size that you are talking about. My phones with USB-C came with both USB-A to USB-C and USB-C to USB-C cords. That, IMHO, is the great thing about USB-C. The ends don't matter nor does orientation.

The easiest way to go is usb A which I might do no matter what. USB c is tougher because there’s less parts and they’re more expensive. I want this to be as clean of a salute on as the DMM...
In either case it will be a female power-only plug in what I hope is a slim enclosure bolted to the dmm

Not sure why the hate on iPhone devices, but none the less.... from a consumer standpoint USB-C should be preferred. There are USB-C to Lightning cables available, and new IOS devices are moving to USB-C as well.
