I'm really glad you guys liked it, I made this for myself at first but thanks to this community I was able to turn this into a real product and here we are now!
BTW if there's anything you think I could improve upon please let me know I want to make the DMM better, there's always room for improvement.

I would say that my only complaint was how difficult some of the threaded holes for ram balls were to thread bolts through. Not sure the exact reason that caused it, but it looked to me like the threaded washer was not quite lined up perfectly with the hole in the plate itself. On one of them I was worried I was either going to strip the threads or break loose the threaded washer.

 

V1 or V2? The V1 has aerospace floating nutplates that have a mechanical thread locking feature. You will feel resistance after the first thread or so. If you look closely at them, you will see that they are a deformed style locking where the nut is squished slighty to pinch the screws.

The V2 uses a welded on nut. I haven't seen that up close.

 

Installed and love mine, will be adding a tablet mount for next outing to run maps on.

 

Hi OP. Purchased DMM and complete mounting kit, ball, arm, swivel joint and lower profile holder 3 days ago, so far haven't received any tracking number for the shipment. Any update please? Thank you

 

I shipped a bunch or orders today, I dont know if yours was in there because I don't know what name you ordered it under but if you ordered 3 days before Friday, more than likely your DMM is on its way. If you haven't received tracking info still, let me know in a PM and I will get that for you.

 

Since I started this little project I’ve been experimenting with a few different finishes on the top plate of the DMM, I tried a couple different types of paint and even anodizing. Some of them came out better than others but I’m happy to announce that all new DMM orders (and even some of the last few orders) now have a super durable black powder coat finish.

Just echoing everyone else - this product is awesome! Great work on putting it together. Just a little unsolicited feedback for you: I found a couple of the nuts to be tight to thread through as well. Also, IMO the aluminum spacer under the ram ball doesn't look very good. I plasti-derped mine but you might want to look into powder coating, painting, or anodizing those. I would have even paid a little more for that option. Also, I didn't need to trim the clip to tighten that one nut. With a slim wrench I was able to fit it under that clip and tighten the nut no problem. You might consider shipping them with a cheapo stamped 3/8 wrench from Alibaba to eliminate the need to trim that clip.

Great job! Any plans on a second gen version? No idea what their dashes look like just know they're going to be super jealous.

The adapter bushings are on the inside.

Painting mine made a big difference.

 

I agree that the balls would look better in al black however they do come like that from the factory so painting them would obviously add cost and even though I believe they would look better I believe most people would rather have the better price, I will look into having those painted black and maybe if the cost is low I can have it done. The rubber ball makes it hard though because you can't just throw the ball in an over or in a tank to powder coat or anodize the aluminum stem....
