Dashtop Multi Mount except not so "multi"

I’m interested, depending on price of course. How large/heavy a device would the bundled phone holder be able to suppport? Would the DSM be able to support a full-size iPad, maybe with a different holder?

Since you have less support (the DMM has a wide base with the loads evenly spread across the top) the DSM will have slightly more vibration when in use with a heavy load, newer iPads should be OK though as long as you use a short arm, If I sell it bundled I will make a couple bundles. (with phone mount, with tab mount, and with wireless charger.)

Interested. Been debating between this and the full size, I just don't "need" the full size. yet. and wife would be happy if I spent less on my new truck. haha

 

So I've decided I will sell these, I don't have any made yet but already have the CAD models, I just have to get them manufactured.
I will offer it with and without a phone mount.
Theres a lot of people who don't "need" the full size DMM but I suspect many people will also want to upgrade once they find the versatility of it, and Im also working on power outlets for the DMM so that's another reason to consider the DMM vs DSM.
It all comes down to personal choice of course and thats why im making this available...

I will start preorders in the next two weeks. I expect to have the first batch ready to ship in 3-4 weeks

I want to order the DSM! It would be great if there was an option to buy a magnetic mount for my phone instead of the giant "claw" holders. Either way, I'll be the first one to order!

 

I agree that the holders are not the best looking solution to this but they are a lot better at holding devices tightly. Not everyone off roads every weekend and so magnetic mounts do offer a very practical solution, I will look into it.
The DMM right now is being used mostly with 1" ball mounts but you can screw anything into the mounting point of the DMM so a magnetic mount should not be too complicated to adapt.

 

A magnetic mount that is attached to a ball would fit perfectly in the extender arm. I made one for mine but it’s not the cleanest look.

Just to give an unbiased plug, I bought the DMM a few months back and love it. Great quality and very clean look. I only use the hole that would be included with this one, so this would have been a better option for me, but still very happy with what I got.

 

I'm also working on more add ons for the DMM so even if you only use one mounting location now, in the future you might find it useful to have the rest.
