How about a Jeep forum? They might have more info in a Renegade TrailHawk specifically and probably more info on Jeeps in general. Most of the guys here have Tacomas and wouldn't be caught dead admitting to having owned a Jeep Renegade. I will say that the Renegade is considered pretty "cute' by most females so it has that going for it.

At the bottom of the Tacomaworld website is a list of other enthusiast sites, to include a Jeep-specific site.

I am sorry to hear that you have to disown your daughter! I was very sad that my daughter choose a Jeep. You can lead them and teach them but something's they have learn themselves.

I think it shares its platform with a fiat. Just incase reliability was a concern....

I think it is related or based on the Fiat 500x which I'd personally avoid. There are plenty of better options in the subcompact crossover class that i'd consider like the Mazda cx30 or even the Hyundai Kona. My younger sister is currently on the market and she's looking at those along with the Subaru Crosstrek.

I work on these at a dealership collision shop . I wouldn’t buy it . Most of the Fiat/ Chrysler vehicles are total crap .

The trucks are solid . The chargers and challengers are Ok I guess but the handle design is way to easy to break into .

We had a Jeep Renegade Trailhawk for a while and while it was fairly comfortable, very capable off road for what it was, we had to get rid of it.

Right after the warranty expired it started sporadically shifting VERY hard for no apparent reason. We would be driving along, just barely touch the accelerator and it would BANG into a lower gear rather violently. This seemed to happen at like 30-35 mph.

We both agreed that thing had to go.

Coming from the Renegade, the Tacoma felt like a powerhouse. Thate little ute is seriously underpowered.

That is my experience with the Renegade, I would try to steer someone thinking of purchasing the cute little Renegade towards something else. Maybe a Rav4.

    Haopy trails!

My coworker has one. She loves it, it has treated her well. Very difficult to lift and put larger tires on though, there is essentially no aftermarket support; if you daughter wants to do that kind of stuff, it’ll be a huge challenge.

My girlfriend bought a 2015 renegade trailhawk. It’s a sweet little SUV, and believe it or not very capable off road. No issues at all and we’ve had it over a year

I see people roaring around the bush in those Trailhawks all the time. A friend of mine had to recover one from a snow drift on a mountain trail, after he came across the owner walking out along the road. When he saw how far the guy had made it, he was mind-blown.

They seem like a well designed little SUV. Reliability would be the only question, and you know what you are gonna hear about that on a Toyota site! That’s like asking a priest if Satan is a cool guy.

Good luck for your kid finding a good vehicle. I like hearing stories these days about kids moving forward with the lives and not holed-up, or locked-up by their paranoid parents.

In my opinion any fiat Chrysler vehicle is probably the worst thing you can buy on the market right now in terms of reliability, resale value, and overall quality.
The renegade isn't really a Jeep, it's just a fiat using the Jeep name.
If I were you, I would try to convince her to get a RAV4, or a Highlander or 4runner depending on how big of a vehicle she wants and if she wants to off-road.

I have an older Jeep from the Daimler Chrysler days. They are not what they were anymore. The renegade is mostly a Fiat 500X under the sheetmetal. Yes they are cute and sporty looking little things. I doubt if I'd buy one but it's more of a girl Jeep.

I had a Cherokee that would do that as well. From 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd and backwards it would slam and thud into gears and jerk the car. Quite annoying.

I’d avoid anything Jeep like the plague, their uncomfortable, unreliable and over priced pieces of junk IMO.

I like Subaru’s, may not look as cool, but pretty reliable.
