Check my signature...still waiting. And buying a Canyon does not mean that I don't like the Tacoma...in fact, I like it very much. Reason for sticking around the forum. And also the reason I do not dare to go back to the Toyota dealer in case they have something like what I wanted and just buy it out of impulse.

You will not see me talk sh** here ;)

So back to normal programming... My suggestion was sincere. He should start the process to get the request documented and start counting the days and times they have tried to fix the truck. Toyota, like any other brand, will not willingly offer to buy it back and exchange for a new one. He will have to force them, via process, to do so.

    Enjoy the weekend!

You leased the vehicle? You aren't an actual owner....

Yes that is correct. The problem comes in I like to switch vehicles every 10 to 18 months. I do this by selling to other people. When I get ready to sell this vehicle I say hello Mr. buyer my name is Justin I have this wonderful Toyota Tacoma for sale it's a timing issues multiple oil leaks and breaking issues. Wouldn't you like to buy my truck so I can go get another new one.

Stop trolling him. Obviously you haven't leased a vehicle before if you think a person can't get out of a lease. Selling a leased vehicle just involves one extra step.
    1. Buyer or buyer's bank pays you
    2. You pay off the note, TFS sends the title to you instead of buyer/bank
    3. You send title to buyer or bank

lemon law isn't fast in any state!
and it doesn't matter how many miles you have on your new vehicle once it's titled... you can't just get a fresh one. op is going to have to just ride this out and hope he gets a loaner car while they work on his truck... that's exactly what warranties are for... nothing more nothing less.

Technically you are renting your vehicle buddy (unless you bought it free and clear). If you purchase or lease, you are "renting" whenever you make that monthly payment to the financial institution. No matter how you slice the pie, you are renting until what you are using is paid off, free and clear.

Yes, the V6 2GR-FE engine (and other 2G's) have a history of oil leakage. I thought that with this new or semi new Tacoma that they would have fixed this. I did a search on Gen 3 for oil leaks and was only able to find 3 or 4. As time goes by, maybe people will start to experience this problem, that is if Toyota decided to let the oil leakage slide. Personally, I don't want spend $32,000 for this problem.

I've seen similar problems with the 1gr. With how many are built they will have problems, no manufacture is perfect. Porous casting happens and isn't picked up right away which may be the case here. Could also have been miss diagnosed as to where the leak is coming from.

What you spend on a vehicle has nothing to do with it. Spend $80000 you may still have problems.

That is correct, however I can sell or trade at any point! All fact if any doubt call south east Toyota directly. Now lease laws probably vary from state to state as do the lemon laws.

I do not claim to be a mechanic. I was under my truck with parts and service director. The whole bottom part of the engine had to be removed to fix the timing issues (does this relate to cam shaft or bolt) to access the oil flow control valve. This valve appeared to have several holes in it. Packaging material was left on this which prevented proper oil flow.

I've actually lemon-law'd a Toyota Tundra (1st Gen). Without getting into the specifics (one of the things you do is sign a paper, saying you won't talk about it), Toyota was very fair about it, adhered to the defined legal process quite well and was quite cooperative with me in settling of my dispute. It's the main reason I have continued to purchase Toyota product.

One of the things Toyota makes you promise as part of the deal is that you may not turn around and purchase the same product from them in the settlement deal (if you lemon-law a Tacoma, you can't turn around and buy another Tacoma), so make sure your issue is something you really cannot live with.

I just went through a buyback with a Chrysler product.

Recommend you contact a lawyer that specializes in the Lemon Laws in your state.

They will not accept the case unless you meet the criteria because all settlement fees are paid by the loosing party. This will press Toyota to settle before the lawsuit is actually filed.

All a dealer will do is give you a "great" deal on a new truck. Your real leverage is leagally with Toyota.
