    Hey All!
Still learning "Tacoma". Today I noticed what I thought could be audio/Bass from the car beside me at a red light...turns out it's my audio. I Bluetooth "books on tape" from my cell phone to the Tacoma JBL system. When doing so, there is a obvious Bass drone that is included. If I change to, say, FM radio there is no drone. Bass setting in general is set to middle way but gets really involved when Bluetooth is on. Any ideas?
As always, Thank you in advance!

    2 options

    1. "make lemonade"
turn the bass down on the head unit, make sure no extra audio settings are enabled on your phone (mine has a 'dolby atmos eq/expander' that can be setup for each bluetooth connection), deal with the result.

    2."nuclear"
realize what a mistake the trucks radio system was(jbl or not), and how it was tuned specifically to sound like something it's not, gut it entirely and install quality aftermarket gear that don't hold the same limitations and hard-coded eq anti-improvements.

I have had SiriusXM for years and have recently tried Bluetooth Spotify...the sound quality is magnificent with Spotify on my JBL system. I am forced to adjust the EQ when I use BT. Hope this helps.

That bass drone is caused by a combination of those audio recordings/content quality + being streamed over Bluetooth.

First, try connecting your phone via USB. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, try streaming actual music (via Bluetooth or connected via USB) from Spotify or a similar higher quality music service.

I probably repeat myself a lot on here, but it seems like half of all the complaints regarding the factory JBL system are related to poor quality of the audio content/source.
