My 17 TRD OR has the L shaped LED daylight running lights. It's on if I turn the switch to DRL and is off when headlights are on. This week the DRL didn't turn on in the morning when I started the engine and turn the switch to DRL. I has to switch to parking light then both DRL and parking lights were on. It seems even I switched to headlight the DRL was still on. However, after I drove it back home in the afternoon the DRL worked as usually. I've noticed it for a few days and not sure if there's a setting that I accidentally changed on my smart key or if it's the cold temperature affected a sensor somewhere. Anyone has seen similar problems?

They don't turn on until you put it into drive or reverse.

If you just turned on your truck and had it in park the DRLs won't be on

My DRLS come on as soon as I turn my truck on, even in park.

Not sure about the ebrake since I rarely use it. I do keep my DRL to the on position when I turn the truck off tho.

That’s not how my DRLS work.

    Interesting.

But, does the light really go out when the refrigerator door is closed?

Just tested it again. This is probably the reason. Turn on the engine with parking brake on, DRL not working. Then release the brake, switch to DRL and it’s on. Now with the engine still on, turn off DRL, pull the break up again, turn DRL on, it works. So the break has to be release at the first time then DRL works. No transmission R or D is required. Will see how it works tomorrow morning.

Also, when you use your turn signal, the direction (left/right) your turning, will automatically turn off that side DRL.

That is not true for the led drls. The sr5’s drls tho are their turn signals.

Thank you INFERNOtaco942...I have been trying to figure out why my LED (white) running lights don't work on my 2022 SR5 for a week now. I came to the conclusion that the running light was the signal (orange light) once I realized it was coming on instead of the light trim piece around a quarter of the housing. Kinda sucks that the LED trim piece is even there if it's not functional. Crazy that it's $1000 to upgrade to the LED lights.
