My little side amber lights (marker/parking) are lit but the ones towards the center grill are not lit which would be my signals/hazards

and park lights. those signal lights are also the parking lights

the little side lights don't count as anything it's just 'garnish'

your real park lights are the ones inside the headlight assembly

This should explain it better: And the 2008 doesn't have a DRL position on the light switch.

Unfortunately I don't seem to have that switch and may not have DRL's. I know that's an oddity. Having a 2013 and not having DRL's. I do have a switch like that not with the marking of DRL on it. Could anybody help me out here? Could the previous owner taken them out?

If best buy can't fix it I'd try taking it to a different inspector before anything else. I used to live in PA and they can be a PITA about really dumb stuff. I fail to see how DRL's not working should fail a vehicle. Lots of vehicles don't have any form of DRL and there is no law saying that you need to have your DRLs on during the day, so why do they have to function? I understand why most states have safety inspections, but they were originally intended for real safety items, this is ridiculous. No safety inspections here whatsoever and you never hear about cars snapping in half or the brakes suddenly failing.

My 2008 SR5 did not have DRLs, but some higher end Tacomas did have them, however, I don't think they were switched like the later models.

    I'm surprised a TRD Sport doesn't have them. My 2014 SR5 has them.:notsure:

2009 with DRL's. Headlight switch does NOT have a DRL position - just off, parking, and headlights. DRL's come on first time I shift into 1st or reverse, and stay on until motor is shut off.

My '07 doesn't have them either. I thought they all came standard and maybe it was disabled by the previous owner.

Im having the same issue with my dads truck. We recently added fog lights on an independent circuit and tapped into the IGN fuse inside the cab. His truck is a 2013 and his light switch does have the DRL option. We can not get them to come on when switch to DRL but the flashers, blinkers, and they work when the headlights are on. Any help would be awesome.
