    Hello guys,

I’m new to this forum. I just acquired a beautiful ‘21 Tacoma in midnight black with the off road package and headlight upgrade from factory. It’s my dream car

The problem is I can’t seem to get the DRL leds to turn on. What gives? They’re gorgeous and I want to have them on 24/7. I’ve tried all the headlight modes (DRL off, auto, and the other two symbols) no luck .

here’s a photo of with the car on and no light bar from DRL

They should still come on with "auto."

    Two things to check
    • In the pre-CarPlay trucks there was an option in the head unit to enable/disable the DRL, verify that this still exists in your head unit and they are on.
    • The DRL doesn’t turn on when the truck is first started and the handbrake is on.
    Otherwise I am stuck.

They do not come on if the parking brake handle is pulled. Try putting it in Auto and park the truck with ONLY the transmission.

it's the ebrake then, when you take it off and go for a drive pull up behind a shiny black truck and see if they're on ;)

drop it to auto and take off the e brake and then pull it back on. Should stay on. My stalk is different. They changed it from the 19 on up

This also works on AT trucks. I'd give you +1 beer points but a like is all I can provide on TW

Thanks a ton guys, it was the e brake because the lights came on when I let her roll a bit without it . I also found in the head unit a auto light sensitivity, maybe that has something to do with enabling the DRLs too

My 2020 has the same stalk as yours, I don't have factory leds either, maybe it's different for those
