The grill is really simple to remove and replace. If that's your only concern, I would advise you to just do it!

My only hesitation was running around with a giant hole in my grill... until I realized that the stock grill had 2 larger openings.

 

I've done it before to do the Raptor Grille LED mod. I ordered the grille with cube cutouts. May look less "open" than yours...idk I'd still like to do it in one shot. But I'm impatient so who knows.

 

I couldn't wait to put the grill on. I resisted a week. It kept staring at me in the garage and I gave in...

 

Ordered mine with black hardware too, but it came with silver , so hopefully Nathan will be able to send that with the stolen lights! That's really the only reason I'm putting off install more than the lack of lights. Yours looks great!

 

Can anyone tell me the exact size of the hardware as I'm trying to replace the silver with black and need to know what to get.

 

Just a quick note.

My wife saw the grill installed this morning for the first time. I forgot to tell her I put it on the truck yesterday and she stared behind me at the truck in the driveway and smiled. "That looks great! It looks like a totally different truck!"

So, yeah. Wife approved! +1

Gave in and installed without the lights. One regret...be careful with the Dremel!

 

For a second I thought you had cut too much of the grille surround. Good to know it's just your arm.

As soon as I get the shipping confirmation on the lights I'll let you guys know.

Fitment was nice..it's really solid. I had some issues because a clip fell off and I couldn't find it but it worked out. I found the clip this morning while cleaning up (figures). I'm going to reinstall it when the lights go in.

I've gotten more sympathy from members on here than my wife. She called me a "dumb-ass idiot who probably deserved it because I wasn't paying attention" (aka the truth)

The order is with the factory right now. I'm expecting a new tracking number in the next couple days.

Well, it's in !

It wasn't easy and thanks to Nathan & DB for their support with this.

After all the Dremel action, there were problems trying to install the clips on the ends of the grille as there wasn't any meat left to mount to.

I ended up getting some 1/2" wide by 1/8" thick aluminum flat stock and bending some little L-brackets for the corners to suck them up into place.

Again, wasn't easy, but it's not going anywhere that's for sure.

As you can see, color matched the surround too, looks sweet. Will put up a couple photos in the daylight tomorrow !

oh, and I came close to going to the ER quite a few time with that damn Dremel ! .....oh and we're eye protection too !!
