Slow boat from China? Speaking of which I just received a order from China 2 days ago and they are trying to put that 25% tariff on the goods plus shipping. ?? Don’t mind on the goods themselves but shipping? What a world we live in today.

Took 10 days for my grill to get here in hawaii

 

Actually they are in Holt, Florida

 

And waiting for led replacement
I emailed asking if danny was able to send me a new led
No reply

 

What you actually need is a tracking number for the 1st panel Danny sent you.

I really like my DB Customz grill. Beats the hell out of the plastic grill.

 

I didnt get any tracking number
When i made my order online i didnt get any tracking
It just came on the mail
It took almost 10 days to get to me

Last time i spoke to danny he said to email him my address so he can send me a replacement
and didnt hear anything from him after that

Update

I received the led from danny
couple days ago
But didnt have time to do it


The led is just a regular led strips
Nothing special
(If i knew the led was like that i would of just bought a replacement on ebay

 

Removed the grill from the truck
Removed the toyota sign from the grill
By removing 14 screws

Heres the hard part
Once those screws are off
Itll come apart in to 3 pieces
The led is sandwich between the black plastic
And the toyota logo
When you get that led aligned
You put another layer on top
To sealed it off and screw it back on

Youll need zip ties to hold everything i place then screw it on the grill

 

Mine is white acrylic. Are the any marks or numbers on the led strip itself?

 

I dont see any numbers on it
Just cut to length and good to go

Im thinking of changing mines too to clear
This was a clear acrylic but they painted it black

 

I guess the thing that concerns me is that the led strip you show is not waterproof. Waterproof led strips have a thick silicone put on them as they are manufactured. That said i’m sure it’s a matter of time until you will be doing this all over again since it will get wet every time it rains or you wash your truck.

I have some of the waterproof led strips ordered for a light i’m going to place inside the hood scoop. I’ll post a picture of that once it is finished.

 

Is the acrylic painted on only one side? If so i’m assuming it’s the side facing the backside of the grill

Yes its painted the inside facing the radiator

Did you use the strip they sent you or did you get the waterproof strip elsewhere?

The TAP plastic I ordered is arriving tomorrow and with it i’ll Be adding a little something to the hood scoop
