Yeah that's what I'm gonna try tomorrow. I have a couple of other ideas too.

Yeah we only left about an inch on the snorkel itself. Hell we even trimmed down the circle end of the adapter. Just wish we saw it yesterday when we were finishing up.

Also Ant, we didn't widen the stock intake hole on the inside of the fender at all.

Not a snorkel expert by any means, but looks like you should use less BFH lol

    Is it salvageable?

I would just disconnect it for now until you have time to play with it.

Keep trimming round end until it's flush - it looks like the other end is trimmed to the max already.

By far the easiest install is a 2nd gen 4cylinder. I wish our intakes were like theirs.

That section is flexible rubber. No worries.

It is cause I'm an amatuer mechanic at best.

So had a chance to work on it this afternoon and I think I got it fixed. Had a couple hiccups today when I tried to start the truck and it wouldn't turn over. I popped the seal on the intake at the filter and the truck started right up.

So I ended up cutting into the fender-well and enlarging it so that the tube wasn't bunched and re-leaved the pressure. I also took about another inch off the metal tube supplied with the snorkel. Was able to maintain using the stoke intake.

Seems like the problem is solved but we will see.

I was just talking about your truck in general man, it's a beast. How have you liked the toytec ultimate lift?

Gotcha. The front coilovers have been good. Snapped a rear shock last summer mainly due to the shock was not long enough for the amount of flex the truck has. If I was to do it again I would definitely go a different route, probably go with kings or foxes.

Yeah definitely a good starter lift for the moderate off roader.

I wouldn't "start out". Do it right the first time and save the money. Save a little longer and get a serious set up if you're gonna wheel like you mean it.

Not that the Toytec lift isn't fine for everything short of an SAS. I'm just saying - get what suits your needs first.

Yeah I hear you man thanks for the advice. I'm not gonna be doing any rock crawling or anything just trail and mudding and stuff.

When I got my lift I had no idea that this the direction that I would end up going with my truck. Really just wanted a mall crawler cause it's the cool thing where I am. I got bit by the bug after my first trip and the mods just kept on coming. Had I known Lurry and John prior and how much I enjoy wheeling I would have built the suspension differently. Mainly comes back to what you think you need for what your gonna do. In the end I still keep up and break paths others with better suspensions can't.

Hell if I knew the real difference between a sport and an off road I would have gotten the off road. But if I knew what I wanted to do I would have saved some money and gotten an SR5

Well if I really had been smart I would have gotten another Jeep.
