    I'm so ready to ditch the spacer lift that was on my truck when I bought it, I swear I can feel every pebble in the road. Anyways I want to go a full 3" up front. I plan on going 5100s with OME coils. Would a 885 and top plate spacers give me a full 3" and give me good ride quality? The truck has no armour or anything on it. I have already installed LR UCAs so alignment is no issue. Or should I go a different route? I'd only like to spend about $500 to get the front lifted properly and ride good. Thanks

    Based on your budget.

    885s with 5100s set at .85 and a 1/4 top plate spacer should put you pretty close if not at 3".

    :confused:

    885s = 2.5" + 0.85 + 1/4" spacer (gives 1/2" lift) = almost 4" of front lift which I would not do. If you get 885s set 5100s at 0 or use OME shocks.

    Hmm. I think you're right. I was running the set up like I mentioned above, but I'm running a plate bumper. :rolleyes:

    Now that I thought about it. I was at about 2.5-2.7 with the setup I mentioned. Without the extra weight that I have, wouldn't it put him at around 3"?

    Based on a few threads I read through the 885s will give you 2.5" with the 5100s at zero. So if I put the top plate spacers too I should be right at 3". I don't want to add preload if possible.

    Consider going with 887 springs if you want to reach for the full 3" without spacers.

    ^ just researched the 887s, good to know, I wasn't even aware they existed. I'd much rather run those than a spacer!

    LEX, I see you mentioned his budget for his lift, OP keep in mind that a budget 3" lift is kind of hard considering at 3" you may need UCAs.

    I just installed some LR UCAs from the group buy a while ago. So alignment is no issue :thumbsup:

    885=2.5"

    886=3" (longer than 885 and heavier spring rate) recommended for a lot of weight up front

    887=3" (longer but same spring rate as 885) recommended for a full 3" with out a lot of weight up front

    This should be right, correct me if im wrong OZ.

    887 specs:

    OME 887 (16.5mm bar dia)(400mm 15.75in free height)(9.8 #turns )(4.7kg coil weight)(Rate: 590 lb/in 103 N/mm)

    They were originally specified as 4Runner springs. I was going to run armor and asked for 886's w/ Top Plate Spacers to keep the full 3" w/ armor.

    YotaDan suggested that I avoid spacers, especially with the stiffer 886 springs, and suggested 887's as a solution. I paid for extended top studs on my strut assembly, so if I need to put spacers in as a means of leveling the truck out... I can do that without taking my whole front assembly apart.

    Mainly because they are a lot cheaper. I also hear the OMEs feel pretty soft compared to 5100s. I see lots of people on here run the OME/5100 combo but if the ride will be considerably better I might consider the 90000 shocks
