Why can't we get a long box double cab with a diff lock and skids in canada?

Probably for the same reason that we can't get a Limited long-bed in Louisiana..... in other words For.No.Good.Reason

And I wouldn't hold my breath hoping for it to come up here either. Look how long it took for the dcsb off-road to make it to Canada.

I think it's for the same reason that Canadian and US trucks have different shaped trim around the fog lights..... Notice the 45 deg. angle on the "inward" side of the trim around the fog light..?? US trucks are straight up and down...

Somebody at Toyota needs their head slapped.

Off road long box equals two adults, and two kids who are near 6' tall with a dead moose or four mountain bikes in the box. You can't make that happen with either an access cab or a 5' box.

It is what it is. That's why I got a DCLB Sport. Get a Sport, upgrade the suspension and tires, and enjoy. You don't need a locker to either go moose hunting or posing at the mall. The Sports seem to have less issues, too.

I don't want most of the sport options and I certainly don't want to pay extra to peel off the stupid stickers, trade away the moronic hood scoop, tear out the suspension, buy new skids, and still not have a diff lock or 16" wheels.

I agree with you, I'm not thinking of trading in my truck until we can get an Offroad DBL Cab with the 6 foot box.

I always liked a dclb because that's all you'd see up here. A dcsb was only a manual transmission, which isn't very common. Now that the dcsb is here it's actually growing on me, more maneuverable in the woods/off road, but a 6' bed would be nice at times as well. At least give us the choice! I think Toyota is slowly listening, first came the trd pro tundra, next the Tacoma and now you can get the 4Runner as well. Hopefully the dclb comes next.

Im with ya, ive emailed toyota a few times regarding this and the response is usually, " due to consumer surveys more customers are likely to buy a sport or aclb offroad, due to these statistics canada could receive one in the future if consumer demand changes"

Move the truck 1.5 metres to the right and drive over solid ground instead of mud. Of course, that won't justify the "need" for a locker ;).

I have a 17 DCSB OR. My dealer told me that the 5 ft box would be pretty much all they would be ordering this year, as stock vehicles. Toyota dealers in Canada have been asking for the short box for years, as that's what buyers have been asking for. Limited only with 6 ft box, and Sport only with 6 ft box, unless you opt for manual.

because toyota canada conducted focus groups and determined that Canadians would not want one.

Seriously email them and you'll get that reply. Thats what I got when I asked why we didn't get the DC off road for 2016.
Focus groups aren't very useful when they're only soccer moms and soccer dads.
