Yeah ive ran dakars on my '01 and '11 no issues at all, would just run the 5100s to get the most travel out of it.

@ChadsPride how much weight are you hauling around?

Also, who has the best deal on the leaf springs and related suspension parts?

Im on my cell phone until monday so searching the forum is hard, what 5100s work with the full travel of the dakars? I may have AP just send me all the related parts minus leaf springs and order the dakars monday.

Im actually empty running around all day everyday. I DO have to hitch my dads boats and trailers up whenever we are at the lake. Thats one main reason i got the Dakar leaf packs. It just feels better knowing i dont have the crappy stock leaf packs anymore. Feels like a made the truck much much better

Well i had to cancel the expo leaf pack order due to time constraints. Other parts from AP are still coming. Gave Dan at Wheelers a call and ordered up some Dakars, unfourtunately the OME AAL is backordered through OME, but Dan went out into the warehouse to check on a possible set they had. He informed me they are spoken for but quickly offered a solution of their AAL they use on their 8 leaf pack, slightly shorter than OME but should work just fine.

So ill have an OME Dakar pack with a wheelers AAL going on instead. I expect a slight squat due to my weight, but im hoping for at minimum 2.25inch lift out back and a plush ride.

I had wheelers 2" AAL in my stock leafpack and it did great. It's a quality product.

Well discount tire provided me with bad news lol. The 255/80r17 st maxx are on a national back order...

Ended up going with 285/70r17 cooper ATP tires. Ran these on my long travel truck, my 01 taco and diesel van with gobs of torque, never had an issue so thats good.

Now ill need to modify the spare tire carrier to see if i can wedge a 285 under there without dealinh with issues off road. I figure if i move the hoist towards the rear and cut part of the actual carrier to allow it to tuck up higher i could be ok.. or ill just find. Used 255/85/16 for my spare rim and just look goofy for a day or so if i get a flat haha
