Ok, so I'm on my second set of sliders and they not up to my standards:

1st set, custom built. really good on length, though lacked strength at the end closer to the bed -- when hilifting off the back end it would bend.

2nd set: RCI. Figured couldn't go wrong...have a full set of their skids and it's great quality. The quality of their sliders is excellent. Very beefy. Downside for me is:
    a) not long enough, they're only ~89" so with the kickout it will dumb right onto the truck bed body panel
    b) do not stick out far enough. when cutting close to a tree the sliders do not stick out past the door handles...learned this the hard way.

So I'm looking for something quite a bit longer, with a kickout that will easily stick out past the door handles when perfectly perpendicular (ideally at least by an inch or 2) that way if on an angle it will still protect in that situation.

A few that I'm considering: CBI and Mobtown off-road.

Please post your photos and thoughts on the sliders you've got for the DCLB 3rd gen

Living in Colorado where there are three damn good companies that build DCLB sliders, I bought @Mobtown Offroad.

I don't have them, yet. There are many posts and pics of them installed here, and on Mobtowns website.

One vote for Mobtown. They have an extra support bar at the end of the slider.20180217_144336.jpg 20180219_164726.jpg 20180219_164805.jpg

Do most of you guys prefer your sliders to be powder coated or are you fine spray painting them?

Our rock sliders for the long bed are 93 inches end to end. We have added a gusset tube on the back to eliminate the flex that you described from your 1st set. Our sliders stick about 2" past the outermost portion of the door so there are no issues with possibly rubbing anything on tight trails or obstacles in the way.

@Mobtown Offroad their powder coating has some of the best reviews, a super secret ingredient list that only he knows.

these look really solid! out of curiosity why'd you go with the fill plates? at the 20 degree up angle they aren't that easy to use as steps on a routine basis...does the fill plate really help much with that. all the ones i've had didn't have a fill plate bc i didn't think it was worth the money...wondering if 3rd time around it's worth the extra $$$

have you tried to high lift off the very end? my original sliders were about 95 inches and they just weren't supported enough at the far end. i love the idea of having them longer so you can dump right onto the rear tire if need be, but if they're not strong enough to support the vehicle without any bending they're not so useful.... (fortunately i tested this in my driveway before embarrassing myself on the trail)

I find as a step the sliders work fine, however you are correct that at the 20 degree angle the fill plates don't really do anything. I wanted them there to help keep things like rocks, snow, or mud from flying up all over the body of the truck.

I've yet to drop it on a rock or something hard... but I have jacked the truck up from both the front and rear ends of them to rotate tires. I did it from there bc I wanted to see what they would do. The tiniest amount of flex, which I think is totally normal for any bolt on slider. It will definitely not bend or flex enough to hit the cab if that's what your thinking.

What is the most subtle option? I don’t love the look of sliders but I definitely need them for their purpose.

My RCI's are tucked a little tight as well (DCSB). Keep in mind not all trees are 90 degree angles though. Many bow and come out at an angle.
