Past weekend 2 hours east of San Diego.

In a perfect world Toyota would offer DCLB in manual! Regardless, coming from a 4 banger Xterra I love this truck.

How are you liking the power delivery on the long bed? I read it only 60 lbs heavier than the short bed?

sorry guys, meant to get some pics up of the only color worth posting :p
    dclbor ftmfw

have not had a chance to get her up and off road - have been on some knarly dirt roads and the suspension does well but they are really just unpaved dirt washboard stuff. handles towing well enough even though I obviously loaded this trailer like crap.

-JBL is awesome for my needs
    -love the sunroof
-wish the seat was height adjustable - its a bit close at 6'2" - i make it but wish for more headroom
    -love the ride/suspension so far
-mpg are great if you stick below 70, 75-85 ... mpg rapidly declines
-v6 is fine - just put your foot into it some and it goes great
    -interior is quiet
-interior ... parking brake location is just stupid - eats up to much console space - must be a safety issue having moved it from foot or t-handle to the console
-tows well enough for my casual towing needs - that trailer in the pic is horrid but not mine so gets the job done - too twitchy and tough to handle on any truck - loaded poorly in the pic but always sits tilted back no matter what so ....
-the brakes ... they actually work and work well despite the rear being drums ... blashphemy right? we'll see this week when i get home and there is some snow on the ground
    - you can squeeze a full 4x8 sheet of plywood/OSB in the back with the gate down - tie it in better than I did please ... actually went about a mile so no biggie and had loosened that line before the pic but be safe out there

I think it is fine so far - hunts a little in 5 or 6 on the highway at some speeds but use S and lock it out of 6 when it does that an no issues - just need to treat 6 as an OD and take it out of the picture once in a while - but by speeds I mean 75+ mph

i go onto the highway and up a 3 mile very steep hill from 7k - 9k elevation every morning, it gets up and goes with no issues right up to 75-80. around town it is a little anemic off the line (thank you cafe standards) but so are the short beds, use your foot and tell it to go and it does so, just like the SB. I don't find a need for ECT I just use my foot and tell it I mean business - it is really the first 1/3 of the pedal in all of these that seems a little wimpy - then it gets down to business

The S mode is pretty sweet...Start from 1st at a stop and have it shift up to 2nd at around 4k plus and the trucks feckin scoots...by 3rd gear your already doing 60mph shifting at the higher rpms...I have to stop myself from going any faster... the truck is definitely not under powered.

I like having the ect on because I tend to feather the pedal gradual and it adds a close to instant response.

Nice looking Tacos boys, especially the lifted ones! And really digging the TRD wheels. I can relate to the SB vs LB as my previous was a SB. Never again

Sales people keep asking us if why we won't go with a short bed like the other 95% of Californians. When we say we need it to haul stuff, they go into OH YOU RIDE A MOUNTAIN BIKE?!?! oh boy, here we go again

I do ride a mtn bike and I'm thinking the short bed ain't gonna make it! I have a hitch mounted bike rack but don't want to use it, if I don't need it.

I laugh when I see people buy a short bed truck, then put a tonneau cover or camper shell on it. At that point, why didn't they just buy a 4runner?

I had a couple different gen 4Runners and they have very little cargo room. A SB with camper shell has triple the T4R cargo space. I personally have always had a shell on my Yotas because the security it gives with your gear plus being able to sleep in it (longbed of course). Also I think Toyota should be calling it "Normal" bed since 6' is really the standard.

Really digging yours. Makes me want to sell my 2012 but I've dumped so much $$$ into it already plus my 3k Snugtop wont fit the 16'. Aghhhhhh

Picked this beauty up last night. The color is magnificent. This truck was built on 10/31/15. I was contacted by my Dealer (Toyota Direct; Columbus, Ohio) on 11/4/2015, we worked out a price (below MSRP).

Wow, thanks for canceling. And if you bought yours for less than $36000, like I did, than you done well.
