    Thank you very much!

Yep, after 12 yrs of living with a shortbed, I decided it was time for more room.

I think once your truck gets here you'll be plenty pleased with it and forget about the longbed.

I think I need to give mine more time to grow on me. This is my first truck coming from the Jeep world so its taking some getting used to for sure (I could practically turn my Jeep around in the garage, the Taco barely fits!). Thing is, I don't REALLY need the long bed space even though I am sure that the few times a year I do, I'll be glad to have it. Also thinking that come summertime, it'll be so much easier getting the kayak to the water but still, there's this nagging feeling that maybe I shoulda gone short bed. Tell me I'm wrong before I spend anymore $ on mods!!!

A little wordy on the response but thanks. On another note, I have to see how you did the ODI shifter knob!!!

    Haha, you asked!

It's super easy. I did it the cheapo way. Some guys that have access to machining stuff make them out of aluminum, but I just had a spare grip, and bought some wood dowling the right diameter... I can't remember off the top of my head... But just bring the grip in, and find the one that fits! Then just drill a hole up the center, and shove it on your shifter. Then tighten the grip on.

It does twist a tiny bit, but not bad at all. Obviously you can do it better, but my way was so easy and cheap, and everybody I ride with loves it

Ran across a great deal this past summer on my DCLB TRD OR and jumped all over it. I had preferred a short bed initially when I first started shopping on the net, but that was before I looked in person on the dealer lot. Once I saw both in person and compared the room, looks and functionality, it was the Long Bed for me all day and twice on Sunday.

My ultimate build out and purpose/use for this truck is as a everyday driver during the week and then overlanding trips on weekends......so the long bed again works best for me and my uses. I sleep in the back and need the extra bed length. Its great for my bikes, firewood, and all my camping gear. Then add the OR package and it will get me through all the off road trails I plan on doing (up to moderate level trails is all I have nerves for).

In the end the Long bed was the best combination of function, looks, drivability, and off road worthiness. To each their own of course, but I am sitting pretty with my Long Bed...was lucky to find mine on the lot waiting for me.

I kinda stumbled on mine as well. Wasn't even in the market for a new ride actually but was poking around one Friday night out of curiosity, and by Saturday afternoon, I was home with the DCLB trying to figure out how I'd fit it in the garage with my wife's Flex.

Haha no need to give me credit, lots of guys on here have done it before me. That's where I got the idea.

I'm home tomorrow night and will grab a pic then!
