Anyone know this difference in weight between the two? I imagine it is at least a couple hundred pounds. If anyone has driven both configs in the second gen, can you comment as to whether or not there is a significant power difference?

A couple hundred pounds is a bit high. The curb weights in the brochure list it as a 50lb difference: 4180/4230 for the SB/LB 4x2. 4425/4480 for the SB/LB 4x4. It might seem low but the only difference is an extra 12 inches or so of drive shaft, another 12 inches of composite bed and body, and a couple 12 inch sections of c-channel frame where it is most narrow. Then the other random shit like brake lines, wires, and exhaust pipe. There is a lot of ambiguity of what is included in those curb weights. Still, that 50-60lb difference seems reasonable.

Even if it were 200lbs, that's the difference between riding around alone or with a big passenger. I'm not sure what driving experience you can have that you'd be able to notice the extra weight. The extra length does add about 4 feet to the turning circle, and that is noticeable.

For an extra foot of bed, and whatever lengthy components beneath....giggity.

I drove both a DCLB and DCSB (both TRD sport) with a salesman (Ahmir) at Arlington Toyota last Friday. I believe the difference was slightly noticeable on takeoff. However, parking the 2016 long bed seemed easier than the longbed I drove in 2008. The double cab Tundra u turned better which was the deciding factor in why I bought Tundra back then. My initial impression was the third gen longbed turning radius is much better than second gen long bed. Just my impression. Beware, I am wrong a lot.

Can someone direct me to the turn radius numbers?

I did not notice a difference in power on the second gen. The weight isn't that big of a difference. It's mostly how it drives. Same thing in full-size. The long the bed, the wider the turns but the power is the same.

For the third gen its 40.6 ft vs 44.1 ft curb-to-curb for the long bed.
Second gen is 40.7 vs 44.0. They're all listed in the brochure for each year on toyotas website.

Can anyone comment on the ride quality between the two? I've been told that the longer wheelbase in the dclb drives smoother?

I imagine the longer wheelbase drives smoother. Of course it will be less nimble around town and in tight areas. Usually longer vehicles make for more stable towing vehicles as well.
