    Yeah , we get it , a longer wheelbase is worse for tight trails

    That then assumes though , that the only time anyone would every leave pavement would be to venture out on a trail where the one foot difference in wheelbase was a make or break issue

    Having a locker option in the DCLB models would be nice , and wouldn't effect the guys that want the DCSB model and it's wheelbarrow sized bed

    Exactly...and my wife's Honda has the same size "trunk" as a DCSB.

    I am stoked the manual transmission is getting overhauled and not killed like I feared it may. However, I bet they will not offer the manual on the DCLB. I still have not gotten a solid answer as to why Toyota does not put the manual transmission in the DCLB. I have gotten a lot of speculation but no solid reason. Anyone know why?

    A Tacoma DCLB with a 6 speen manual and off-road package is my dream truck. Toyota will give me some of it, but not all. Sigh....

    I doubt there ever be a DCLB TRD Offroad

    If that were the case then they could just merge the TRD Sport and Offroad models and allow you to choose what options you wanted

    I doubt there will too. A lift and some BF All Terrains would make it look nice. Just no rear locker and manual.

    I emailed Toyota about the lack of a manual transmission on the DCLB back in 2005. To my surprise I actually got a response. They said they try to do extensive consumer market research, and that at the time there was not enough demand for a DCLB with a manual transmission to warrant producing that option. Whether or not there is any truth to that excuse, I have no clue. I would assume the same is true today.

    First logical explanation to that I have heard. I guess the DCLB tends to be more family trucks in which manuals are not really preferred. I'd still love one though.

    TRD Offroad package (rear locker), 6-speed manual trans, & DCLB would be the truck im in right now. But it doesn't exist. If it ever does then that's what I'd get into.
