I need a cheap hardtop for a hunting trip coming up. I haven’t ever needed a hard top until now, and won’t use it until I have to drive on another hunt in a couple years. I sold the one that came on the truck because it sat in my garage for 3 years, only fitting that I finally need it and don’t have it.

Outside of used, what other options are available currently?

I guess I don’t have enough posts to create a WTB ad yet, so hopefully this discussion will help get me over that threshold.

I just need a basic top that locks and has ability to put a rack on top if needed. I’m not opposed to new if it’s inexpensive. $2,000 is way more than I want to have into a basic top.

I saw old posts about a budget Leer that comes lower priced for a new unit, however I can’t find any concrete prices online. What are those going for in today’s market? Any other manufacturers offer budget tops that are comparable?

    Thanks!

ARE has a budget / classic model that starts at $1.2k , I think that is the best you are going to do new.

You might have some luck with classifieds on the forum or on CL, but they go quick

Quite pricey for aluminum. I dang near gave my topper away! I regret that!

I keep scouring CL too. Hopefully something pops up

Where are you located, @Rayne Storm ?

What year is your truck, what color and what is the cab/bed configuration?

My dad just sold his long bed silver ARE fiberglass one in mint condition for $1200 in Ohio.
