80 lb canoe? No portaging then? That is heavy.

But not nearly as "heavy" as it is at 75 mph. The downforce from the wind at that speed significantly increases the load.

Toytec drivers side spacers, Toytec diff drop kit. All Pro u-bolt flip kit, TJM Compressor (permanently mounted), Custom rack for the RTT over the bed, Tepui Kukenam RTT, Toyota Bed Mat, Cobra 75 WX ST CB Radio, and a lot of gear behind the seats.
This is my setup, I know I know my boat is a little bigger than yours but it gets the job done.

In all honestly, I am looking at buying a canoe or kayak, could I rest them on the RTT? (obviously padded)

FB_IMG_1439081905838.jpg My method is to just throw as many boats on as I can.

Seriously though when we are camping or going a distance with the boats we use bins to keep the gear dry and then plan to use bars like the relentless ones to hold the boats. SOS-off-road concepts is building them for me right now.

the oem rack blows! mine broke at all the point where the plastic meet the metal lock ins, wel my hobie outback is about 80lbs ,and the stock rack just doesn't cut it,,the front runner is SOO expensive ...but so was my truck and so was my hobie! id like a tough one that wont damage my yak and serve other purposes for gear and things! the prinsu looks badass but also expensive! guess ill be saving..again! lol

OEM roof rack, Shorty antenna (eBay), soft tonneau cover, K&N drop in air filter, bed mat, interior LED lights, 5100's, MT tires to come soon!!!
I have been using the factory roof rack and a Harbor Frieght ladder extension carrier thing. It works awesome and was relatively cheap.

I'm driving from WV to FL on Friday and here's my set up with my Hobie Pro Angler 14 on the roof. It's nice and secure and drives well at 75mph (except for the additional wind noise). I do expect it's going to reduce my gas millage a bit because of the additional drag. I'll be snook fishing this weekend:thumbsup:

I managed to get the pro angler up there by myself by parking my truck on a down hill, sitting the front of the yack first on the tailgate and then standing on the tailgate and lifting it up to the rack. From there I lifted the back and shoved it forward. Gravity really helped. I bought the Pro Angler especially for Florida and haven't had any seat time. I have a Jackson Cosa I use on the Potomac.
