It's more towards the people who are seriously arguing about this.

my SB turns on a dime. had a long bed single cab and it was too much bed. needed more interior space. 5ft bed is practical for gen use. if it aint enough, there is a hitch for the trailer. no need for long bed.

Speaking of camping in a short bed, I hopped in the bed of a DCSB at my local dealer the other day and laid down. I am about 5 foot 10 but I could sleep fully stretched out if I laid diagonally and it wouldn't really be uncomfortable. I noticed if I slept veritically, I would just have to bend my knees in a bit, which is something I already kinda do when I am sleeping in my real bed.
That is good to know if I do want to go the route of the DCSB manual, but I still think the DCLB's look better and have more functionality. It still isn't any longer than a full size pickup and I don't live in New York City or anything so parking it isn't an issue with me.

This guy has a nice setup in his LB. So much space!!!!!

I did kinda feel like this when I was seeing how it would be to sleep in the short bed.

Nice camper setup. And don't forget that in a SHTF scenario, you'll have an extra foot to stock beer!
And beer is the most valued commodity in that scenario.
I know, I've been thru a couple. And beer was more valuable than gold or gas, I got a tank full of gas one time just for bringing beer to first responders during a hurricane event lolo!

SHTF Beer? We're gonna need a full size and a trailer.

Yeah, but you leave the trailer hidden and the full size behind b/c you don't want to put all your eggs in one basket.
You have all kinds of characters out there, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
And they all run on beer and keel you for it lolo!!
    stay safe out there
