Ive hauled loads of stream rocks, bed full of soil, lumber, drywall, 4 wheelers. Pretty useless.

Then you have the wrong car seats. My boys are 4 and 6 and have been in the back since just after birth and 3. My wife is 5'8" and fits just fine in the passenger seat. We used the Britax Marathon series and now one is in a booster and one is in a graco nautilus. Even more room as they get older because the car seats take up so much space.

Why would I want a full size. The tacoma is a more manageable size and it has hauled everything Ive put in it.

This right here. The rear springs are upgradeable. No need to get a huge full size when you can spend a couple hundred and upgrade the suspension.

Really OP its what ever your use.

Me, i wanted the locker, and atrac with 4x4, and the foot shorter bed hinders me none... I can still fit 2 dirtbikes easily in the bed, i would of had to keep the tailgate down regardless of long or short bed.

You get in the back and let your wife drive the 5 ½ hours from Denver to Moab and let us know how great that access cab really is. ;)

Why the hell would I get in the back? We go on road trips all the time from Seattle to Montana, Whistler, Oregon Coast.. The kids love it. Always choose the truck over our car.

I have some videos on here I've linked to that show all four of us at the end of the video.

To be honest growing up in the truck I never minded riding even in the back of mine. I wouldn't want to know but didn't care as a kid

What? I come from an ACLB and anyone bigger than a 10 year old is pretty crunched in back there. Sorta like sardines in a can is what I compared my '11 to the one time I sat back there.

I'm personally really glad I got the DCSB... if I had gotten the DCLB, I wouldn't have been able to fit in the new house's garage. The SB barely fits as is. :D

    Stock for now...
IMO - if you buy anything but a short bed you should have bought a full size since you intend to haul , and a Taco isn't intended to haul without spending the difference in price between a mid-size and full size truck . End of argument .
Think about it - long bed Sport , added locker and real springs makes the price difference . Not to mention the crappy fuel mileage vs having a real V8 that can haul/tow .
    FTMFWIDK , lol .

Hauling is different than "using your bed"
If you want to haul a 10,000lb boat buy a full size, if you want the best, most capable truck for everyday driving/off-road use, buy a DCLB

Your family of 4 fits inside an accesscab... bwahhhhhhh. BS

I have a DCLB, and my family of 4 ( two car seats and a wife) and its tight and not that comfortable so not sure how an access cab is comfortable at all.
