Ok my bad. Ebay said that fits a 08 tacoma, so I assumed the bulb was correct

No worries man. HID's are the way to go. if you are going to buy the aftermarket eBay housing, you will still need to buy an HID kit to fit the aftermarket housing.

Can you point me in the right direction of some HID's that wont break the bank or are the DDM's the way to go?

idk if your question was answered but they are the same, i think most companies go by the h4 but h4 hb2 and 9003 all work.

i have the ddm tuning 6000k 55w and they are great i love them, you just need to make sure you aim them right or you WILL blind people. I would recommend the 35w as well though. I dont need 55w but the rest were on back order when i got mine and i didnt want to wait

    Just for information:

I have the DDM hi/lo bulbs and ballasts, as well as the fog lights on my truck (all 35W). They are extremely bright and WAY better visibility than stock, HOWEVER I had both ballasts for my headlights fail on me (verified by changing the ground, and switching in alternative ballasts). I haven't tried returning them to DDM yet, so I can't comment on customer service.

I have 4 sets of DDM HIDS i only have had 1 ballast go bad. So they are good stuff. there customer service is iffy but there products are good. I had water get into the relay for the hi/lo and had to change that out. But besides that, there are good kits.

DDM hid kits are the least expensive.
-If you want to use the stock headlight housing you would use the 9003/HB2/H4 Hi/Lo bulb type. I have the 35w DDM Hi/Lo kit.

-If you go with the aftermarket ebay projector headlight housings then you would need a H1 hid kit for the low beam AND a separate H1 hid kit for the high beam since it is two seperate bulbs in one housing, not a Hi/Lo in one bulb like our stock headlights.
