    Use a little meguiars ultimate compound if you have shadowing. The problem is not where the emblem was, its been protected the whole time. Its shadowing because you didn't take care of the paint around it and it has oxidized.

    A compound will take away the oxidization giving a clean fresh clear coat. Always remember to wax afterwards though.
