Hmmm, 10,500 miles and a dead battery on my ‘18 TRD OR. Seems like a short life. Are these batteries know to be low quality?

Any electrical mods? Run the radio with the engine off?

No mods. No radio. I drove to work this morning and now I’m waiting in the parking lot for a jump. No lights on either.

I think you might be right cause it will turn over about a quarter rotation and then click click away.

And this truck is about 18 months old.

I've never had a Toyota battery last more than 18 months, and I've had 7 of them now

My last Tacoma the battery died, I'm gonna replace my new Tacoma one with an AGM battery. comes helpful if you offroad

Thats pretty bad for a battery, I'd get it tested and just replace it with a better one if it is bad

Yeah, hopefully I can get it started now, drive it home and get a new battery tomorrow.

Could just be a loose connection at the battery or at the starter. I’ve read lots of posts on here guys thinking they had a bad battery or starter and the terminal connection was just loose.

AGMs are overkill for 99% of tacomas.

Batteries fail, you aren't special. Batteries on new truck can fail simply due to sitting on the lot too long and too short of drives to charge it etc.

Have them warranty your battery and the new one will last 5 years as long as you aren't in desert climates.

Good thought, I will check the starter connection. The battery terminals are tight.

Southern California Texas and Arizona are all hard on batteries. They won’t last as long in regular triple digit heat. When the battery fails we replace it for not having to shovel snow.
While I lived in Colorado I had a factory battery in my fj cruiser for over 7 years and it was still going strong.
