If the battery will warranty see if you can get a Group 27. Mine died after 3 months. All the Toyota batteries were the same price. I got a group 27 instead of the 24. Had to buy a tray from a Gen 2 With towing . They have 27s. Cost me a tray. 27 bucks but ended up with a 27.

Warranty. Buy a new and better battery and have them reimburse you for the amount a new OEM would have cost.

Maybe thats why my battery has lasted so long. I have a 27 battery in mine. Not sure why they only come with the tow package, they should just come standard

If it happens to be in off hours when the Dealership is closed you can buy a battery and Toyota will send you a check for the cost.

Seems like a dumb choice on toyotas part. They have room for the bigger battery under the hood.

I took the battery to my local Autozone and it tested at 10 volts. So I bought a new one and am back on the road.

Thanks for the support and ideas. I think I will see if I can get reimbursed for the battery from Toyota.

I junked mine after a year or so and bought a good group 27 AGM before I was left stranded

Agree, can't see the need for a AGM battery in a truck, unless you were doing some crazy off roading.

I had to replace the AGM battery in my bike yesterday... nice knowing acid won't be leaking out if it fell over or I dropped it.

Thought about going with a lithium battery, but they were $300. I did read up on them, seems the only downfall other than cost is they don't give you any warning their going bad. Perfect one day dead as fuck the next.

Always had great luck with Auto Craft batteries from Advance Auto Parts. The Silver Series I had in my old Jeep lasted 7 years. It had zero electric mods thou, hell it didn't even have AC.

Oe is bad, mine failed at 18k iirc. Toyota replaced mine with their “upgraded” (00544-24F60-575)battery so far all good at 35k

Same here, my 85, 02, 04, 07 and 19 all had $hit batteries. Wife's 2019 Camry appears to have a decent battery though.

Who wants to risk a dead battery out in a rural area?

AGMs don't leak acid and the terminals do not corrode. They are well worth it over a lead acid battery for that reason alone.

I've had to repaint the inside battery area on my 85 and 07 4 Runner due to battery acid seeping.

Here's a great AGM battery for $146 on sale, 4yr replacement warranty. No maintenance:

And this is exactly what I was looking for. 4yr replacement warranty on a brand-name (Bosch) AGM 24F with solid reviews at under $160 OTD and free installation.

Just placed my online order with installation at PepBoys scheduled for tomorrow. Thanks for the link...

Damn...I paid $187.86 for my AGM bike battery.

I'd definitely buy one for my truck at that price.

I've had three batteries die in 6-7 months, left me stranded each time. Was over the winter, not that should make a difference but cold kills these quick. The batteries toyo uses are junk, very low CCA. Dealer had quite a few towed in last winter. My gf civic came with a larger battery than my truck did.

I plan to buy one when my wife's Camry battery craps out. I'm keeping a close eye on it for leakage.

I'm still new, only 3k, but I prefer the replace before failure method too. Of course sometimes they shit the bed prematurely with no notice.
