You should keep a portable jump starter in the truck, better than being stranded.

I’ve had my OEM battery for three years now. No issues. Live in Montana. This past winter, temperatures fell below -30 degrees. No issues starting and no battery heater.

My battery went out at 18 months... More than Half the cells were dry.

They will warranty the battery if you maintain it... ??? HUH?

Make sure you fill the cells with ANY KIND OF WATER, before you take it in. Dealer will honor the battery warranty. Dealer will check the charge and the cells to see if it's low on water. It's YOUR responsibility to maintain the battery... Dealer is notorious for denying warranty claims for batteries.

Wrong. I gave my wife's 2019 Camry it's first engine oil/filter change today and noticed the 2 month old OEM battery is already starting to seep corrosive acid and turning into the white stuff:

If left alone it would eventually reach the battery tray and begin corroding it. This is one of the reasons I hate lead acid batteries and ran lead calcium batteries before the AGMs became available.

Popped the cap and I noticed some cells were low and carefully added distilled water, taking care not to overfill it. Note the battery is dated/stamped 02/20/19.

With more and more AGM batteries becoming available I will be replacing this $hit battery from Toyota very soon. It's not worth my time or my investment to wait until this battery craps out on me or the wife, then have to call the dealer for a tow only to have them reinstall this garbage.

I do, the truck creates a constant draw since all the dummy lights come on in the dash and elsewhere when the hood is open.

Use a battery tender. Today’s batteries, lead acid do not like deep cycling. Also today’s electronics still use power with vehicle off. With a battery tender you can’t overcharge.

I must be some kind of fluke, I've always had great luck with batteries. Still on the factory battery from January of 16, when I had my Dakota that factory battery lasted 12 years until I rolled the truck. Motorcycle batteries on the other hand might as well be AA's

I checked the water level on my brand new, OEM battery, and several of the cells were low on water. Luckily for me, I never tossed my old Battery Filler Jug (https://amzn.to/2X1fjdi), so I filled up my low cells.
