Check the first post for info on the campsite. Don't know how much it'll be yet. Somebody has to step up and be our rep to make reservations. Worst case, we have to make our own reservations, in which case, the sites are $20 per night (capacity per site is 2 trucks or 5 people).

Sites all have water and power hook-ups. There are two bath houses with toilets, sinks, and showers. There's a firepit for each site with a grill gizmo attached to it. It's a nice place.

Oh, and before anyone asks...No dogs are permitted. It's a horse-friendly campground and I guess they feel dogs will harass the horses--either that or they don't trust people to pooper-scoop. :D

Horses need a much bigger pooper scooper than a dog, We could flex and articulate on some old dry horse dung :)

But they have a barn for the horses so there shouldn't be much if any horse droppings in the camping area... Aw, heck, they're just bigots! They think horse owners are better than dog owners. :p

anyone recommend a sweet instant/pop up tent? Like throw it in the air and it sets up before it hits the ground lol. I am over setting up tents but I don't want one that is going to be leaky and don't have the $$ for a RTT so don't even mention it.

You got a double cab 2nd Gen. Sleep in the truck. :D That's what I do, although I found out last year that Tacomas don't sleep as well as my YJ or my FS Fords did (although only the YJ is really surprising there). I dunno how a YJ Wrangler with bucket seats and a center console was more comfortable than a Tacoma with a bench seat, but it surely was.

well I have a truck bed tent but don't want to take it up and down for when we wheel. As far as sleeping inside the truck I would be up for that but honestly I want to actually sleep and stretch out and wake up with no neck cramps lol

Well, I am pretty short (not enough to stretch out in a 1st Gen cab mind you), but once I found an arrangement that stopped that stupid seat belt receptacle from jabbing me in the arse, I was able to sleep with my pillow up against the B-pillar and my feet on the passenger side dash and surprisingly, (especially given my age and (lack of) fitness level) I had no cricks or pains in the morning. Plus, it was a lot warmer in the truck than it apparently was in a tent. ;)

true. I have slept in my jeep back in the day and tundra (bench seats) but the taco would be a last resort as I am 6'2 so I need some space. Don't really mind the cold camping as I wear the right gear when I sleep and stay cozy in my bag. I might even do like Josh did when were in Ocala and just sleep under my tonneau cover...his tent set up and take down was 3 secs lol

Haha, I don't know why since it's probably no worse than being bundled up in the cab of the truck, but the idea of sleeping under the tonneau cover in the bed of the truck makes me feel claustrophobic.

    :D

Anyway, Jeeps are surprisingly comfortable for sleeping. Pillow between the seat and the roll bar, feet on the passenger dash, and yer good to go. Hard to beat a full sized Ford extended cab though. Rear seat folds down into a flat platform and with a few cushions, it makes a damn fine bed.

As much as I agree as Ive slept in a few vehicles and Im 6', for some reason our tacos are just not comfy to sleep in. Ive tried the cab many times and just couldnt do it.

Simon if you do just sleep under your tonneau I dont know how comfy youll be in a 5ft bed :p might have to sleep at an angle if thats the case. This next time Im just bringing a tent as I may have my friend with me and I doubt camping in the bed sounds fun to her (actually shed probably be fine with it but still), especially if it gets all muddy during wheeling.

I am in the market looking for a instant/pop up tent (that doesn't leak). I really am over setting these things up. I am not so worried about the 5 ft bed as I sleep in it already with my truck bed tent fine. Did you close the tailgate when you were in it at Ocala? Looks like my wife won't be going so I will have the whole bed. (she has officialy told me she loves to camp with me but sitting in the truck on wheeling trips bore her to death lol)
I was thinking of even backing 2 trucks up together and having a tarp between the 2 and be done with it. Or even just one like this

. I just am sick of setting these tents up, even the bed tent.

Haha and I thought my solution was ghetto! I closed the tailgate when I did it and thats why I mentioned you maybe not fitting.

Hmmm Idk man. I mean you could do that, I guess I dont really care about setting up a tent since Ill probably be there 2 nights so the setup wont feel obnoxious. If you do that thing in the DIY article you listed you may as well just get a camper shell or make a little lean-to lol Maybe a soft top camper? It just all depends what you want out of it because regardless you have to still unpack the truck to camp out of it. At that point its the same as setting up a tent and just rolling back your tonneau and leaving everything in the bed.
