just got back from NM. lost a lug nut when my mechanic blew it on the torque sequence. so happy my friend noticed it. quick tightening session found the two wheels he changed bearings on loose. had to order a single lug from Wheelers. grrrr.

    anyway. two deer down.
    43 quail down
    15 Eurasian doves down
    15 cotton tail down
    jackrabbits down.

it was a blast. driving to NM, we looked loaded for bear. i finally got my Browning Citori in the field. opted for MOD-MOD choke tubes and after a slow start..about 20 straight misses, i got calibrated and things started to topple. we were thick with quail. and they held tight.

cottontails, i used my pellet rifle and got it dirty. first kills!! i hit one in the head at 40 yards and it folded. the rest we got with .22. super fun. i am surprised we even hunted deer.

the two deer. smaller ones on this ranch. one ambushed coming to the cornfield. the other we stalked in the big mountains.

we ate everything. i've been watching that show MEAT EATER and was inspired.

we tried deer testicles. err..done with that.
    quail gizzards
    deer heart.

i brought home the liver heart and tongue of one deer.

i am thankful a coyote never came to the call. bleech.
