    shit that sucks. him and sig were my two favorite captains. although the way he smoked and drank red bull with almost zero exercise i gotta say, its not a shock. its still sad to see him go

    Yeah I'm also not surprised to hear this, lived a stressful life and unhealthy life. But I hope the best for his family and friends, RIP.

    I read today that they were wrapping up filming for the series to start in April iirc. Apparently they were filming when he had the stroke in January. Discovery said they haven't really sat down yet to decide how to handle it in the show.


    Very sad. Prayers to Phil's family and the whole fleet.
