Went to throw some bump stops on today, to find this beneath my truck.

Got my 10k oil change service and found this messy ass job DCH Toyota of Torrance did.

Everything seemed tight when I checked the drain plug and oil filter - wiped everything off and waiting to see if more oil accumulates.

Anyone experienced anything like this from a dealership? How did they make it right?

Good luck getting them to comp you for messy work, not cool I get it but in the end only you care about your truck as much as you do, they still completed the oil change and didn’t damage anything just did a sloppy / lazy job of it.

    This is normal.

Toyota dealers hire shit "mechanics" with no self-respect, or respect for the vehicles they work on.

At least you avoided scratches and dings on the body of the truck, and oil inside the truck. And don't bother trying a different dealer, both the dealers I took mine to scratched the truck.

I buffed out the scratch from the first dealer. I'm gonna hold off buffing out the second round of scratches from the second dealer until after I get the ding fixed by a PDR shop. I didn't bother taking the truck back to the dealers. I don't want those assholes anywhere near my truck.

He's right. Only you love your truck. Your truck is only an obstacle in the way of a mechanic who would rather be checking his Facebook account. Rebuilding an auto trans or setting lash on a rear end? Yeah, take it to a REPUTABLE mechanic, one you have found through checking references. Most of the rest of the stuff you can do yourself. And better. It's not rocket science.

Good mechanics are usually getting paid flat rate, and they sure as hell are not doing oil changes. That gets left to the new hourly guy :fingerscrossed:

How did they make it right?

You're not going to believe this, but they gave me a brand new Audi TT-RS and $350 of spending money.

That’s a bold generalization. I’m sure there are a few, but I have nothing but praise from my Toyota mechanic. He’s been the only one to work on my truck for the last three years - all factory recalls, TSBs, several alignments, ball joints, steering rack, and will be going my 5.29s soon.

To the OP, find a better dealership. Langway Toyota in Middletown, RI is 100% legit!

I stand by my statements. This is not the first vehicle the incompetent Toyota dealers in my area have screwed up over the years. Consider yourself lucky.

You guys are easy to please. That half-assed work isn't exactly confidence inspiring. I'd check the oil level and make sure the lug nuts are secure.

BFD, what you should be doing is wiping it off and making sure there isn't a leak. If there is, then you've got something to bitch about...
Sloppy work, I agree. People get boned by dealers everyday, but this is small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. YMMV

Sometimes it’s how the employees at the dealership get treated is how they treat the work. Just sayin
