It's not about not using his skid plate. It's about the principle of the mechanic being lazy and not giving an F. I bought T4R Pro rims and had them install, 3 out of the 4 rims had light scratches and grease everywhere. I agree with others to pick and choose their battles. For me, I'll never go back to that dealership as I've seen other poor workmanship from them and a don't care attitude. Too many people now a days don't have pride in their work or care about other people's property. For me, anything I can do myself I will, anything else will be done at a reputable shop. It is a shame so many reports now a days about Toyota service departments lazy and incompetent work. If you guys have found a good Toyota shop, keep with em, for others, run and find a new one.

If I saw that oil, my biggest concern would not be the mess, it would be did the dealer tighten the filter good enough and is it still leaking.

That’s exactly what went through my mind. After I noticed it wasn’t leaking I had a bit more piece of mind.

When I change oil, I clean off everything. Then run the engine with my hand touching the oil filter and checking for leaks. Sometimes it can be very slow, then when it gets hot, it is time to go.
