I either explained how the tabs get bent here a few posts up or in another similar thread. Basically, if a tech is unable to sufficiently loosen the cam's tightening bolts or the bolts have seized or near seizure, they often try to go all gorilla with the big wrenches, typically on just one side of the cam (front side or back side), to make it happen. This forces the eccentrics against the tabs unequally.

Even more effort may be applied out of frustration and is how they destroyed the tabs on mine, yeah every last one was bent flat or nearly flat on a relatively new truck.

The proper way is to first make sure the cam bolts can be loosened and also not seized. If so, two wrenches should be used, one on the front side and one on back side of the cam, to more equally distribute the turning effort.

Great. First reaction was that the wheel/steering felt ‘lighter’.... all good

For those greasing their cams... I mix waterproof marine grease with antiseize 50/50 seems to work well. Greased them up when my truck was brandnew last november, already had started to rust, truck 2 months old!! Pulled them apart just last week after a harsh winter and all the grease was still in there looking good. Also when you do get the cams out and need to clean the surfaces inside the bushings with LCA still on the truck, a pistol cleaning rod with a 12 gauge bristle is the perfect fit!

We did it with the smaller HF Press but it was a stretch. The 20 ton would have been a lot easier. Make sure you clean up the edges on the LCAs and the Whitelines to make the start as easy as possible. Also pay attention to the orientation of the bushing per Whiteline's instructions.

This happened to me recently, I hit a pothole while turning and knocked my camber out of wack... brought it in and they said $1900 for the job. I find it hard to believe the pothole caused it but that's what the dealer is saying. 2016 with 58k. Going through mechanical breakdown insurance so :bananadead:20190611_123215.jpg

Suppose you can elaborate what they want to do for that $1,900? That alignment sheet suggests a little more than a common pothole caused those numbers. Did you hit a big hole really hard?

They said they have to cut the LCAs out and install new parts, labor, taxes; that's all I know so far. I hit the pothole at around 60 while turning.
