I brought my car into the dealer for a oil change and tire rotation 2 weeks ago. I just noticed yesterday that I was missing a lug and the stud was snapped off!!! So I have been driving for 2 weeks missing a lug!!

They claim it was my fault and will not replace the Spidertrax wheel spacer or fix the broken stud. We all know the dealer over torques the wheels on but they wont accept blame. Anyways Spidertrax is awesome I called them directly and they are sending me out replacements and I didnt even have to ask.

Its nice to know you can still find good customer service.

Incompetent mechanics piss me off. I went to Canadian Tire last weekend to buy some winter tires. I decided to pull into a gas station to check the tire pressure on the way home, and find that no two tires are filled the same. Two rears were filled to 30 and 28 psi, and the fronts were filled to 32 and 29. The sticker says 30 for the front, and 33 for the rears. To top it off they didn't put the valve caps back on the rear tires.

I'd contact the dealerships manager if I were you.

EDIT: Oh yea, I forgot to mention, the service guy tried to tell me that my breaks were 25% worn on a truck I drove off the dealerships lot exactly two weeks earlier... He thought it was an '08, not an '09 :frusty:

Why would the year make a difference in whether or not they're worn? I'd hit him with a wrench.

canadian tire is good for that, no matter what condition your brakes are in they always say 25% remaining. we went to my mechanic and he looked at the brakes a year later and said my brakes still had 90%+ remaining....

I posted here a long time ago about an Aamco I brought my Maverick to, who brought me a cup of red tranny fluid with metal shavings in it, told me my trans was shot and I need a new one. I had B&M Trick Shift in it. B&M Trick Shift is green.

Last time I went, told the dealership "don't touch the wheels, I mean it" they were clean so I would know if anyone messed with the.

They also told me about my breaks, needed to get them changed. I said "that's funny, just went to a dealership in TENN, (Bristol) and they said they still had alot of life."

Ya just need to stand up to them, at times my wife has taken it in or my father. If something is wrong, I make them say I will take pic's and I want the old part/parts. 90% of the time, and very odd, the items needing addressed are just fine.
