I don't want to thread jack, but does the dealer have to see evidence of the rear bottoming out to give you the TSB. Or is it a Luck of the draw thing if they care or not.

Some like to test it, some don't.

throw out my milage...they will do the tsb but the lady said that the service mechanic or whatever mentioned it was because of the spacers. but she said she didnt take a note of it so i could bring it back without the spacers and the warranty would cover it but id have to pay a deductible

That's correct. Plus, TSBs are up to the discretion of the dealer. It's not a guaranteed item even if he was under 36K.

I think it helps if there is evidence of it on the bump stops.

The TSB system is for the dealerships to remedy hard to find/diagnose/repair problems. They are out there for the techs to fix problems based on customer complaints. The TSB for the leaves specifically says "Based on Customer Complaint"

In ideal condition you shouldn't ever have to mention the TSB to the dealer- You should say "My truck rides really rough when I have it loaded up with (insert building material or cargo here) and I want it fixed" That SHOULD trigger them to do the TSB...You may have to mention it to them tho. Once you do mention it...That should be it. If you have damage/rubbing on the bump stops it'll be that much more on your side.

I just told me dealership to take care of it- They tried to just swap out stock leaves...I called them on it and got the TSB springs the next week.

I just had mine done on my 09 with no problems what so ever. I even had an AAL in my rear pack already with a complete set of coil overs and new UCA's. All they said to me was when can you drop it off. They didn't even charge me a dime either.

I'm not sure. I just called my dealership and they ordered my parts no problem. I think they load the bed up or something.

Technically yes, but many people have been denied because the dealer said there was no problem.

They'd be pretty pricey. TRDParts4U.com has them for $450 each and I don't know whether or not that's the TSB springs. It'd be cheaper to go with an aftermarket set (Deaver or Alcan) ($600 a pair from ). They'd probably be better as well. I don't know which brand would be better for you.

    Input for the 36k warranty:

Toyota (the company) will cover the TSB inside 36k. The dealer gets paid to do it. Outside of 36k, the dealer no longer gets the warranty money from Toyota (specifically extra care) to do the work. If you get someone to do it afterwards, its out of pocket for the dealer. My dealer thought it was covered after 36k with EC, but they messed up, bit the bullet, and paid for it and sent me on my merry way. They tried for 2 days to get Toyota to pay for it.

That's what I told my dealer. There were no bumperstop marks because I never bottomed out.I didn't have a problem getting the TSB done.I did bring the TSB paperwork.
All my dealer did was make a call to Toyota for approval.
