    took my 2018 to my dealer after installing my lift to get an alignment. they are cool with lifts and the service writer was giving me tips from what's hes done to his.

    he drove it back after he wrote down how I wanted it set and talking with the tech, making sure he was understanding and confident in how I wanted it, and after about 30 min they brought it back and said they couldn't align it because they didn't have the specs yet from Toyota...what the hell? this IS Toyota lol! I said could you not use the 2016 or 17 "file" and he said no...is my dealer retarded or am I missing something here?

    The newer trucks have different alignment specs because they have smaller tires

    See my previous post about Toyota dealerships sucking a big bag of dicks.

    Go to a 4WD shop. The dealership are shade tree mechanics that just got their certs, most used to park the cars.

    no same wheels and tires as the 16 and 17's, at least for the OR, Sport and Pro. I dont know anything about the wheels and tires on SR and SR5's but i'm prety sure those are smaller. Dealer sounds like idiots as the majority are.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

    No.

    An alignment can be done w/o wheels/tires even on the vehicle.

    A while back there was talk here that you would not be allowed to lift a 2018 Tacoma, according to Toyota, and keep the warranty. Not true?

    I mean that depends on your dealer. but changing coils and control arms has nothing to do with if my motor threw a rod or if my entune screen takes a crap. no they won't warranty aftermarket parts. my service writer told me ya if your rear end fails, we are probably gonna blame the lift. well in my eyes that's probably fair. I changed the original drivelime angles, caused stress and possible pre mature wear

    this was my thought. I knew the tech would be retarded, but I was talking with him and he said ya what numbers you want it at, and I told him. figured ok well as long as the parts changer shows me a printout and it's to the specs i want then I'm happy. should have known better that they could get it done lol I get if you don't have the Toyota alignment specs, but I don't give a rat's ass about those, I wanted it how I told him. oh well.

    Something about dealer employees... from my experience they're either clueless individuals and the ones who knows what's going on tend to pull bs out of their ass for the dealers sake. I'm sure there's honest hard working people at a handful of places unfortunately I haven't found one yet.

    I agree. and after thinking about it, it may be a dealer/Toyota liability issue not putting it "in spec." can't blame em for covering there ass if that was the case. I walk out with a alignment sheer showing way out of spec and then wreck, well...

    SO . .. . how much lift did you put on it??? If you jacked it to "Max Bro" then maybe they are right.

    You found one that knew what was going on?

    re: BS, I'd be surprised if you found one that didn't BS.

    A Toyota dealer not being able to find specs, does not surprise me in the least.

    Ones at the dealership that I bought my truck from, seem less skilled and knowledgeable than you're average back yard hobby mechanic. No joking.

    Unless it's warranty work and free, they are not worth the $$
